Frankly, you shouldn't get ANY vaccine if you're feeling unwell. Can you possibly buy and do a rapid test tomorrow before you intend to go to the centre? And just for your peace of mind, the chance of getting covid if something sneezes in your general direction when you're out isn't very high:) so unless you spent a significant amount of time in crowded places without a mask in the last few days, I wouldn't worry too much...1 point

Firstly - take a test! It's best to be sure. If you think you have symptoms it's best to stay inside until you know you've not got it (tested negative). Secondly - you won't be allowed to attend a vaccination centre if you have symptoms and/or test positive. Thirdly - IMO it's quite clear that the vaccine is having a big say in preventing severe illness or worse, death. So for me, the risk of not taking the vaccine outweights the risk of actually getting the virus that the vaccine is purely designed to protect from. Fourthly - could it just be a bit of dehydration because of the major heat and temperatures we're experiencing here?1 point

Feels like we're a petri dish that we're allowing to grow and grow and grow....let's hope this doesn't create a strain that is adaptable to the vaccines. It also feels like people's "we just need to learn to live with this now" attitude of just dropping any sort of restriction is for a lot of people who are clinically vulnerable going to be a death sentence....and/or no end of isolating insight. You take the breaks off slowly, not completely as cases are rising as high as they were in January.1 point

My Daughter has bought a house in Holly Springs - a really nice area with a public pool about 4 minutes walk from the house and easy to get to the triangle and Raleigh and Cary. Might be worth a look if you have to move.1 point

That's odd, I can post twitter links, but if I try to embed them, then it won't post. But glad you got it to work. Sorry for the hassle.1 point

I'll check it out, but I typically don't enjoy Will Arnett's voice as I find it a bit annoying. Could always use a good podcast though.1 point

The earliest known international agreement, a piece treaty agreed between the Ancient Egyptians and the Hittites after the Battle of Kadesh. Kadesh is also the oldest record of a tactical battle with formations largely preserved. It was a war of superpowers of its time, 6,000+ Egyptian chariots were there. Most probably ended in a stalemate After Kadesh the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II had a political problem since he had already made peace with his greatest enemy he could no longer sell the savior of Egypt tag to consolidate his power like even today politicians wag wars, create tensions to win elections. He solved this dilemma by using religion, proclaiming his divinity. As a living God who ought to be worshiped not as an oracle or something, this was an unprecedented but genius move that worked. He ruled for 66-67 years more than almost all Pharaohs.1 point

Found this from Kicker today - a list of 18 clubs with most members. 8 of them are in the 2. Liga this season. It's also good to see that the clubs that have been struggling and/or got relegated in recent years could not only hold their membership members, but actually even increase them. Union membership figures rose most significantly - around 8000 more in two years in 1. Bundesliga.1 point

So I started listen to a podcast called Smartless (Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes) they started up at the begining ish of Covid and I remember hearing really good things. I bookmarked it to check out and finally just got around to listening to it. Its fantastic. They get all sorts of Celeb guests from Lebron to CNNs Jake Tapper to Ryan Reynolds. The interview dynamics are just great and the topics they cover all while not being overly serious are great.1 point
