  2. This was an interesting article on the whole thing from the BBC I read earlier... Newcastle United takeover: Phil McNulty asks what Magpies should do in their new era - BBC Sport Does anyone remember the series V where they came to earth claiming peace disguised as humans but underneath they were lizards or something like that??? When I saw this picture I thought of that show... Just waiting for her to start pulling her skin off and start eating rodents..

  4. That's amazing, people offer money, some people give food but this man is helping them feel human again by using his skilled career. He might only do this one day a month but the change and lift this could give someone could potentially increase their confidence ten fold.

  5. Yeah, there are codes you can use for each genre, but it's still shit and frankly, shouldn't be like that. I also watch a lot of it on my phone, and the search on the app is even worse.

  6. No, of course not! We're all model citizens here.

  7. But as they are illegal we don't condone the use of them.....

  8. Bookmarked. I always used https://www.suggestmemovie.com/. But when I found a movie, I still had to check if it's even on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

  9. Oh nice this has all of the fucking services I waste my money on in it!

  10. I hate the UI of both Netflix and Prime. Search and browsing is horrible in both, too. Tags and genres are all messed up, makes their library look tiny, and their suggestions are total crap. Is it that hard to just make a proper list of EVERYTHING in their streaming library, properly categorised by genre, release date, title, etc? Any illegal pirated stream site has better and more intuitive search than those two... Thankfully, other people do their job for them. This is the site I use when I want to find something on Netflix or Prime: https://www.movieofthenight.com/catalog/netflix

  11. I own both and I like both. I like using Netflix more - and out of all the different streaming services I have ever used (and I've used a shitload now)... I think they have the best UI and things just work better on Netflix. I actually hate getting around the Amazon app on my TV, I think it's a pretty shit interface and it loads very slowly. I do like that Amazon's got sporting events and sometimes other live events. And giving the original Top Gear crew The Grand Tour and giving them an outrageous budget means I'll use it just for that.

  13. Malaga is lovely. Went there for a day trip when I went to Fuengirola/Mijas. In fact a lot of that southern Spain region is so nice to be in. Been to Torremolinos, Marbella, Puerto Banus in addition to the 2 above. Love visiting there. Also never been to Italy - we were thinking of going somewhere in June for ages so started looking at flights. Looked around loads of places in Europe - Florence, Rome, Paris, Lisbon, Barcelona, Bilbao, Nice, Porto, Prague, Dubrovnik but all flights were coming out very expensive. Then searched Milan and flights were only £80pp return!! Couldn't believe it was so cheap considering how popular it is. My brother and his family were lucky - they flew out to Lanzarote and thankfully I don't think the ash affected them as the wind was blowing the ash the other way. Same for the return flight, don't think it reached that island but it was heading towards Spain apparently at some point...

  14. I don’t think Arsenal will ever be rid of Kroenke because he once said something along the lines of “the love English fans have for their teams makes them an incredibly exploitable asset” at a conference.

  15. I'm off to Málaga in 9 days . I was thinking the Canaries but it's risky due to the volcano in La Palma, it may end up affecting flights to all the islands due to the ash. But it should still be warm in Andalucía. 20-25 degrees or so I'm guessing. Italy is on my list though, as I've never been to Italy.

  17. The purpose of building that reputation is because the PIF plan to grow their portfolio to $4 trillion over the next 10-15 years. Qatar and UAE will look like nothing in comparison. They need reputation improvement to get more deals done, to build more trust for their Western business. Newcastle United is now a useful pawn in that as are the NHS and many others to come. PIF and Saudi money is going to be a major part of the restructuring of the UK and US in decarbonisation and the move to a green society. They're already heavily in the tech sector and part of your daily life to the tune of billions and billions. With each year that passes your pension is going to be more and more dependent on the PIF. It's most likely that Joe Biden bottled sanctions because we are already at the point of no return. Many might not realise it yet, but the ambition of the PIF, if it comes to full fruition, is going to emphatically and overwhelmingly tie your life to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

  19. The narrative from Newcastle fans shown on TV and radio today that the club has endured endless misery and suffering over the past ten years is absurd and strange. Equally, “today isn’t the day for that” in regards to the issues with the Saudis is a funny stance from people so ardently abusive with their dislike and disdain for their previous owner is a funny one. I’m not a fan of fans celebrating new owners like they’re celebrating league wins or legends of the club returning. I just find it all a bit strange really. Don’t get me wrong, I get they’re happy to see the back of Ashley and there may be a percentage purely celebrating that but are new owners really to be celebrated? There’s no guarantee these will be any better and having been burnt by Ashley and the various characters he’s had associated with the club over the past however many years he’d been there, is there any guarantee this one is going to be any better? Just because this one has money (so does Ashley though), is that okay? Having seen what a bad owner can do to a football club and having been broken by a megalomaniac, with a new play thing before the money stopped, that left me repelled from the club and confused and angry that the next chairman with no links to the country let alone the city, the place or the club to be treated like some sort of hero and celebrity, I hope Newcastle fans get a club they can be proud of and aren’t at the end of another bad owner. It’s not pleasant and it’s not nice, ultimately, to have to make a decision to walk away. If it’s done “right”, Newcastle could well make the big six, a big seven and provide a new test to the traditional names but they’ll do their bit to push back on their monopoly being challenged by a newcomer.

  20. Good news is GRRM is heavily involved and D&D are now where near this. Hope the current directors don't try to fit 20 episodes worth of material into 6....

  21. Just got back from a walk through the local park, beautiful day out and nice and sunny, just took my time and then headed off to Tesco''s to pick up some wholmeal bread and some garlic puree. I would love to know how the FUCK did whoever manage to put this graffiti up on the wall? and no, that is not a ledge below it but just a wall going all the way down. I passed the local pub and I was tempted to go in and guzzle a couple of pints but I thought I had better not, will save that until next time when I go out with the wife.

  22. At least 50 dead in an attack on a Shia mosque in Afghanistan. Really bad time to be a Shia Muslim in Afghanistan - they're not really liked by either many of the Taliban (although some of the Taliban leadership claim they want to be more inclusive - but... you can't trust the Taliban...) & ISIS loves killing Shias more than anything else.
