A very comfortable 70 mins lead too a bombardment of 20 minutes that reminded of Wimbledon in their pomp. Thorn and Winterburn lumping the ball forward to Fash n Corky with others taking advantage of the mayhem the long ball created with chances of 2nd balls. Those last minutes would have been wonderful to enjoy if it wasn't my club under the cosh. Our young central defense lacked an organizer but rode their luck and benefited from a good performance from Mendy. They did not have it in them to move one across to help both wing backs who were left with up too 3 attackers when facing long balls in from the opposite touchline. I feel certain Silva would have dealt with those 20 minutes. Sarr. Looked to me as a very strong young man who plays like a Train crash waiting to happen Loftus-Cheek. As ever pure class with the ball moving forward, but still a passenger without the ball. Chillwell. I think he plays further forward than Alonso lol. Mendy. Wonderful shot stopper with none stick hands Lukaku&Werner. Signs there isn't much understanding between them yet. They say winning all points with late defensive performances builds belief in the squad. Killing games off before half time builds belief too but also stops the opposition from being optimistic they might get a result out of us. That's where we need to be.2 points

Washington should keep the name Washington Football Team as it's the most accurately descriptive name for any NFL team. Pittsburgh don't work in steel mills, Jacksonville aren't actually Jaguars, nobody on Miami is even a dolphin, I doubt any of the Minnesota players have ever participated in a raid on a monastery. Not a single player on any of the bird teams can even come close to flying - they don't even have wings FFS. I don't know what 49ing is, but I assume it's similar to 69ing - so maybe San Francisco's got an accurate team name. Meanwhile, Washington Football Team are a football team from Washington. Refreshing honesty from a side that had to change their team name because it used to be a racial slur.1 point

Yeah... but thats 11 years ago. Now we're seeing people in the 2021-2022 kits they've purchased from the club with Ronaldo's name and number on the back donning the green and gold scarfs at the same time - these current protests come off as churlish at best, tbh. These people don't want to feel like an exploited asset by the Glazers? Then they shouldn't be buying the new kit - capitalists like the Glazers only understand their "customers" which the fans are voting with their wallets. The cynic in me is pretty sure this one is just because the match with us is coming up and fans think they'll push it off again if they protest again. But if the match has to be called off... I think this time the rules should actually be followed this time around. Not a repeat of what happened last time, which tbh should never have happened. In any case, I think the protesting is a bit weird right now. Glazers invested heavily in United this summer and are even now investing in fixing up the stadium and modernising the infrastructure of the club - shit that they were rightfully slaughtered by fans for. This season the only reason the Glazers are an issue for Man Utd fans is that they've just given Solksjaer a contract extension. Other than that, they've actually done stuff fans are asking them for (which is more than some American owners have done tbh). Investment into the first team (pretty serious investment too - a world class CB in Varane, a right winger that was needed in Sancho, and then adding genuine world class talent in Cristiano Ronaldo). They've tried to do with United what they've done with their NFL team... the difference is their NFL team has a pretty good coach and their football team has a guy who's out of his depth. A bigger issue for United this season is Ferdinand and Neville's punditry, because each time they talk about United they seem to be taking on the role of unofficial club ambassador. And they go soft on Solksjaer, say things like Conte (probably the best manager available for United right now, tbh) isn't a good fit for United. They're using their media platforms to back their friend who's the current manager and are doing what they can to sway public opinion away from United's board making the "easy" decision of sacking a legend to appoint an available world class manager. Don't get me wrong, the Glazers are cunts and they don't belong in football. But they're definitely not even close to the worst owners in football... they're not even the worst Americans to own a club in this league... But if these protests do go off, I've got no real faith in the league actually enforcing their rules... I imagine the same thing will happen again.1 point

I know these are old posts but I wanted to throw my 2 cents in. It's incredibly smart from Seattle to not take those two players. For one Carey Price is 34, has had problems with injuries, and only four years into an 10million 8 year contract, it would be insane for Seattle to commit 1/9th of their cap to one player like that, especially one that has no value on the trade market, if things go awry, an unfortunately *rumours of drinking problems in the past*. Great player but comes with baggage and a huge reputation that could backfire very easily. For second, Tarasenko also has injury problems and with an expensive contract. He has reportedly told St. Louis he wants to leave, weakening his trade value, making it very possible for Seattle to trade for him in the future unless he has a *no trade clause* in his contract and x-d out Seattle as a destination. Overall it's a headache of a situation and wise to just skip the situation.1 point

Only until Friday, 5 days in total(I got here yesterday afternoon) but I wish I made it 3 weeks or so now and did a bit of travelling through Andalucía but the potential changes in restrictions is what puts me off booking for any longer. I also forgot how amazing it is when landing in Málaga and flying over the mountainous region as you approach. Some of those lakes up there are picture-esque! I'm going to pop down to Benalmádena tomorrow as I know someone who is staying out there. I actually came down with a cold on Wed, but fortunately I got rid of it and never devolved a cough or chest infection. I was going to kill the cunt who passed me it at work . How is Crete?1 point

Quantum of Solace was so bad. The script suffered heavily from the writer's strike at the time, and I think Daniel Craig even wrote some of it himself, if I remember correctly.1 point

Played Life is Strange: True Colors and its Wavelengths DLC. The story had some 'eh' moments, but overall I think it was very well done, and engaging throughout. The game itself also looks super gorgeous. That record store in particular just feels so damn real it's uncanny. While some moments of Wavelengths made me raise my eyebrows (the political kowtowing was too much at times even by this series' standards), the gameplay is so innovative and unique. I mean, it's still an 'interactive movie' style game at the end of the day, but the concept of running a radio station/record store made it feel like nothing I've ever played. Also, the soundtrack and sound design is obscenely good. No one does it better. That said, Wavelenghts might not be as interesting if you have never played the older games. There's a bit of fan service there. Overall, I'm glad that they put this series in the hands of Deck Nine, instead of Dontnod (the developer that came up with the series). I already thought Before the Storm (LiS1 prequel developed by Deck Nine) was better than the game it was a prequel to, and Dontnod's Life is Strange 2 really was a swing and a miss and easily the worst game in the series.1 point

Nice one, that was it. Always wanted to watch all the film as think I missed the beginning and it looked good. Kept getting confused with the later film Mystic River also starring Kevin Bacon yet a different story.1 point

Well, yeah, I am. Since the 90's. Main reason is they were the best team back then I guess, and me and my friend always played with them in the NHL games on Sega Mega Drive. But I kinda stuck with it, and they're still my favourite team. Fedorov was great too, and he dated Anna Kournikova who I had a huge crush on back in the day.1 point

I'm off to Málaga in 9 days . I was thinking the Canaries but it's risky due to the volcano in La Palma, it may end up affecting flights to all the islands due to the ash. But it should still be warm in Andalucía. 20-25 degrees or so I'm guessing. Italy is on my list though, as I've never been to Italy.1 point

Spurs Away Game of two halves with the manager being praised for his change of formation at half time when replacing the under performing Mount with a Third Holding midfielder. Of course if you are one of us you know this is the 2nd manager of Chelsea to use this formation to beat Spurs. Conte did exactly the same from the start at Wembley to win in a league game. Thomas says he wanted a higher tempo more energy. Spurs looked to have tired in the 2nd half which helped our dominance to steam roll them. I think we can all agree our performance in the first half was below average, but Spurs have to be praised for the effort they put in pressing our defenders in Keeper as we attempted to play out from the back. On the whole we kept the ball well and never looked in trouble. Alas being kept in our own half for so long kinda highlighted the Mount breakaway he fucked up with a pass behind Lukaku and then unable to finish off Lukaku's ball back to him with a miss hit shot. Many had Silva as MOTM. Not for me, I felt Alonso was most deserving of that and on another day he could\should have scored at least a brace. Kepa kept a clean sheet, but still has most of us on tender hooks when he is called into action. Lastly, I don't get to watch many of the games on TV, especially on Sky as I find their coverage terrible. This match I watched at a Golf club and without access to the remote control was forced to endure Sky's output and their chosen pundits & commentary team. I pity anyone who pays Sky to watch their EPL offerings.1 point
