This has been an absolutely ridiculous season for us as fans, even if we only end up having won just the one trophy. 3 cup finals in one season is ridiculous. And we’re still in the title race this late in the season while being in 3 cup finals. What an absolute fucking ride, I am often wondering if I am in a coma and this is all just some strange fantasy my brain has created. Klopp’s a fucking legend, we are lucky as fuck to have him.2 points

I think it was probably a case of him taking his chances that they had enough to see it through and saving him for the weekend. If the title race isn't so close or City already had it won I'm not sure he makes that sub at that time in the game.1 point

Como is beautiful, you’d get round it in a day (but only the town of Como and the wharf/dock area). We spent 2 weeks at Lake Garda and that was amazing. We got the train from Garda to Venice and it was pretty easy. Shouldn’t be an issue from Milan to Como I’d have thought.1 point

It's imbedded into the culture of the club. It's why I always bang about European pedigree. There's a mentality deeply rooted in the entire identity of the club which helps rid pressure. I still fully believe if we never won in 2012 we wouldn't of in 2021.1 point

Chelsea eventually won the CL but did so being bang average and finishing outside the top 4. Part of it is the joke these owners dig for themselves, they have contributed to the hysteria of the Champions League and the commercialisation of it by wanting it so badly. But City could win the league again this season and it will be a better achievement than winning the Champions League because an English or Spanish league title will always generally be a bigger achievement. But the era of football we live in now perpetuates the myth that the Champions League is the big one, which it is in Cup competitions, but not in comparison to two of the biggest leagues in the world1 point

We spoke about it in the matchday thread. You can always tell watching Liverpool and Real Madrid in particular that competing for European trophies is just a normal part of being that football club. The pressure's off in a way because they've won it a bunch of times already and they always feel as if they have nothing to lose because they'll be there year after year giving it another go. Around other clubs, particularly PSG and Man City, there's always that anxiety and pressure of expectation, and almost a sense of embarrassment these days that they really should have got over the line once by now. It's a decade this season since City first won the Premier League title in this era. Both them and PSG have enough quality to have picked up at least one Champions League title each in that time. There is so much scrutiny on this situation at both clubs now that it's getting worse not better. They'll get over it eventually though.1 point

Enjoy @Dr. Gonzo. I can't wait - missus and I heading to Milan end of next month. @Tommy - food is one of the things we're looking forward to the most. @DeadLinesman - spending half a day at Lake Como - have you been? We did plan a day but others have said that only half a day is needed really. What are trains like there as we'll probably use that to get to Como from Milan.1 point

I don't want this to be misconstrued along the lines of me saying poor Pep, he has no money etc. This is purely away from the financial side of the game. Manchester City's top goal scorer this season in the Premier League is Kevin de Bruyne who has scored 11 goals. That is 3 goals less than Liverpool's 3rd top goal scorer of the season. Man City have played this season without a recognised centre forward playing as a centre forward and have somehow still scored 2 goals less than Liverpool in the league who have Salah, Mane and Jota leading the line. Pep Guardiola's coaching (his coaching to any Liverpool fans in here, not his transfer business or his net spend ) is genuinely incredible, other than Gabriel Jesus who is not a prolific forward, Man City have been playing this season with a collection of wingers and attacking midfielders. Pep has had his front 3 playing with a number 9, a false 9, two false 9s and even no central forward/9/false 9....just two wingers and 3 centre mids behind them. They've been so powerful because each winger/attacking mid has seemed to manage to grab about 10 goals each. I'm not sure I've ever seen a team top of the table at this point in the season who do not play with a recognised centre forward. That is truly mad and a testament to Guardiola's coaching. It will be interesting to see how they get on next season with Haaland, whether he improves the team in the way they are already playing or whether they have to reduce some of the current players playing time/ability to play in dangerous zones to allow for Haaland to take up a greater role.1 point

In the matches that I have watched he has been decent. He's had a couple moments this season where he gave away costly penalties, but he seems to be good in the air and has scored a few goals iirc. There's been some discussion about making his move permanent but I think that will depend on the relegation situation.1 point
