Honey Honey Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 It is a thing for some people but it's not a big enough thing to be that detrimental. Bolo Zenden went to Chelsea over us because of it. Not that I mind in hindsight we got a much better player in Laurent Robert instead. If someone doesn't want to be a millionaire in the North East you have to question what exactly is it that they want to get up to in their spare time. Is it for their bored housewife who wants to buy Gucci bags everyday. Success depends on the success of the manager and director of football. With Steve Bruce as manager and Nikos Dabizas as Director of Football I think we would easily bypass Arsenal within 12 months Quote

You think with all the players they have over the years (maybe not recently and more yesteryear) and the huge stadium (with fans that would almost be rejuvenated just to have Ashley out the club) they could once again become an attractive proposition. They definitely need to be careful regardless. It’s also not like it was ten-fifteen years ago, players are now paid more than they’ve ever been paid so if they really want to go home to mainland Europe over the weekend, flights are more accessible and these tossers can just book a private plane anyway. 1 Quote

Honey Honey Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 The strategy noises from the media are that £150-200m will be put in for the first 3 years and if the club and team progresses they'll keep doing that in 3 year cycles. It's also been noted that commercial revenue can increase by £50m a year eventually even without a fake sponsorship deal because that part of the business has been ran so poorly. Quote
Honey Honey Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 It took a global pandemic to shift Ashley. Most likely cashing out so he can buy up businesses on the brink. Quote

Guest Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 @CityTheBest Man city aren't the biggest club in the world. You're not even the biggest club in Manchester. And there's no way it can be argued you are. You can't even feel your stadium when you are top of the league. Man u, Barcelona, real madrid, Liverpool could go to anywhere in the world and sell out a 100 000 stadium. Even in the Europa League utds revenue is bigger than yours. Man city are a medium sized club with rich owners. Utd, arsenal etc are where they are inspite of their owners city are there because of them. If you don't really care about supporters from foreign countries then you are even smaller. Utd, Liverpool, arsenal spurs all have more support than you. You've also never won the champions League. No club can ever call themselves the biggest without winning it. Quote

When City were losing to Gillingham in the 1999 Play-Off Final and we turned it around and ended going back up. When we were relegated under Kevin Keagan. Aguero scoring the wonder goal against United with Balotelli assiting when he'd been called a flop by Ferguson. These are moments that turn clubs big. As soon as Aguero fired past United in 2012 we became the biggest club the world. The fans. The atmosphere. Worldwide acclaim and support having surpased the mighty United as the biggest club in not just England but the world. City's lavishness and money is unrivaled, we can buy any player we want, we are the richest club in the world, if there's player we want, we get him. No other club in world has that much power, that much dominance. RM and BArcelona are closest but even they can't compete with us for the best of the best. When we want someone, we get them. For me the top five biggest clubs in the Europe are: 1. City 2. RM 3. Barcelona 4. Bayern 5. Juventus And in England 1. City 2. Liverpool 3. Manchester United 4. Chelsea 5. Arsenal So then Newcastle are now bigger than you. Edited April 26, 2020 by Cicero Quote
