Italy are already out.
imagine north Macedonia oust Portugal too?

Would be quite glorious honestly. They could lose every game at the WC but they'll always remember who they knocked out to get there.

Brian was wrong about nearly every pick in OP xD

USA qualified.

South Korea and Iran have comfortably qualified. (granted Australia may still miss out but they're in the qualifiers)

Argentina comfortably qualified, and Uruguay have with a game to spare.

Africa still TBC. Egypt or Senegal could miss out. A very open qualifying/playoff stage lends itself to a big team dropping out anyway.

The US have not qualified yet.  They play Panama and Costa Rica yet, who are 4th and 5th in the table.  Two draws would guarantee a playoff spot against Oceania.  4 points would guarantee passage.

They've fucked this up before so we'll see.

Apologies, thought they had!

Do you think they will progress, without needing a play-off game?

Yes, I think they will but they've been far from convincing.  The whole of CONCACAF is balls really.  Every match is 0-0 or 1-0.  No real offensive game plan, just park the bus and hope for a goal on the counter.  It's awful to watch.

Yeah even Canada hasnt technically qualified yet, I think 1 more point will do it though. Next game is Jamaica in Toronto on Sunday so probably gets done there.

Tbf his Iran shout was when Iran had Wilmots in as manager and that guy's absolutely stealing a living if he's still working as a football manager. Iran was in a bad place before they sacked him considering the quality of opponents in that round - a lot of Iran fans were pretty pessimistic of their chances too, Skocic coming in and making such an impact so quickly was pretty unexpected. Especially because his tactics are very different from what worked pretty well under Queiroz.

But yeah it's funny looking back on it with hindsight, because South Korea and Iran did have a fairly easy time qualifying in the end. As did Argentina.
