I've just thought now, why does the tuberculosis jab you have at secondary school leave a permanent scar on your arm?

Not everyone gets the scar. It’s just a response from your immune system.

@Carnivore Chris is special

Does anyone know if you live alone are you allowed to visit another household at the moment and create a bubble? Does it make a difference if that person lives alone? I thought we weren't but someone told me we were.

I've had a look in the internet and in pretty certain you are. I was gonna get a friend to cut my hair. But then I won't see anyone without social distancing for ages so I think that is ok isn't it because I'm in that bubble? The issue is I get ear infections and they keep getting infected because the hair is getting in my ear. Wouldn't bother otherwise. He is isolating with his family all who are not vulnerable. @DeadLinesman do you know what the law is? I live alone so would be in a bubble of five if I do it I think.

I think that's within the rules mate providing they aren't already doing the same with someone else

Is there a limit in the distance you should travel? I think he lives about 30 miles away? It would be out the car in out again no other contact

I think the recommendation is just no unnecessary travel and stay local where possible

The thing is he is isolating with his family. Both him and his wife are on furlough. His kids are of school obviously. Some of the more local people are in households where people are working. So I would imagine it is more likely to spread with them. So ethically I think he would be the better option. The thing is say I try and do it myself and cut my ear or something and end up in a&e that is more of a risk of spread.

@DeadLinesman interested in your thoughts because you work in a hospital I think.

If you’re on your own, you can mate. Just make sure they haven’t already formed a bubble with another person or family for any reason. Government website.....

@DeadLinesman what about the distance though? He is about 30 miles away but like I said he and his wife are on furlough and he has two kids who are off school. Some of the other people who are nearer arent of work so they are more likely to spread it?

Not sure distance comes into it if I’m honest. At the end of the day, two parent that are split could have joint custody and live 30 miles apart. A support bubble is a support bubble. I don’t see any mention of distance in the legislation.

Here's something for the experts to comment on - and hope for others.  After having discovered that all 3 of us in the family have had the virus and never knew it, my recent CT scan has revealed a 'nodule' on the right lung.  Maybe there for a while, or affected by the virus it is causing so much concern to the specialist that he has booked me in for another scan - on January 12th 2022.  Maybe long covid has its weaknesses.

Had an unexpected brief this morning when we got in to work and had 8 people from Kingston Council down to carry out Covid tests on everyone in the building today, Currently we have 30 cases just on Shift A alone... Not sure if the Council have been getting concerned and have just turned up with no notice to do this or work has called them in to assist...
