Manchester United to rival Chelsea for Jadon Sancho

Manchester United are reportedly ready to go head-to-head with Premier League rivals Chelsea for the signing of Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho.

The England international has been in impressive form for Dortmund once again this term, directly contributing to 24 goals in 18 Bundesliga appearances.

Chelsea are rumoured to have lined up a nine-figure deal for the 19-year-old in the January window, but a move did not materialise.

However, the Evening Standard suggests that the Blues now face increased competition for the teenage attacker as United are also weighing up a huge bid.

The Red Devils signed Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in a deal totalling £68m earlier this week, but the report indicates that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been given the go-ahead to chase Sancho.

Sancho turned down a new contract with Manchester City to join Dortmund in the summer of 2017.

He's an idiot if he joins Man Utd. Chelsea better but I'd still say he should hold out for Man City or Liverpool if he moves back to England.

Why? We’ve averaged a trophy every year with Roman? We’ve always experienced consistent success.

Because he could easily play for either of those teams and they're currently better positioned to win the league and/or Champions League and will remain ahead for at least the next 2-3 years unless something strange happens.

Except he wouldn’t start at either of those clubs and in 2-3 years time who knows what would happen. Signing for us would guarantee success.
