Take nothing away from what an incredible loss that is on Utrecht's part. Up there with the very best LMS genocidal 1-0 home defeats.

Unbeaten in 6, only lost once at home all season (Ajax), won their previous game 6-0. Emmen had only won once all season up to this round.

Totally unprecedented but we seriously plucked it out of the hat with aplomb this time round xD

Results - Gameweek Three

Casualties (10)

It isn't quite the highest toll of casualties we've seen this season but the majority of survivors bite the dust in Gameweek Three. The carnage started with a mere whimper on Friday night as @Mel81x's Heerenveen went down 4-1 to PEC Zwolle. The remainder of this week's damage can be traced to Utrecht, where bottom club Emmen came to town and took their second consecutive victory with a 1-0 win at Stadion Galgenwaard, eliminating @DeadLinesman, @nudge, @RandoEFC, @Tommy, @Lucas, @Michael, @Bluewolf, @Storts and @Stan in one fell swoop.

Unlucky everyone. That's two points on the board from this round with a slim chance of picking up an extra bonus point for joint 3rd.

Survivors (4)

Vitesse provided the only safe passageway into Gameweek Four with a flurry of second half goals allowing them to see off VVV-Venlo with an eventually comfortable 4-1 scoreline. League leader @Viva la FCB now has an opportunity to stretch his lead at the top of the standings with his closest rivals eliminated, @...Dan and @Rucksackfranzose happily admitted that they would have chosen Utrecht, and death, if they hadn't already picked them earlier on, while @Pyfish continues his best run of the season, the only one to have had the option of picking Utrecht this week and choosing not to.

Congratulations to the final four, please progress to making your picks for the next gameweek below.

Preview - Gameweek Four

As we are down to less than five players, I'll need you all to make the tie break picks this week as insurance against a situation where none of you are able to pick a match winner. So for this Gameweek, please pick:

  • A match winner, as usual, from those you haven't already used up to this point.
  • A "First Goalscorer" from any fixture. This will be used if none of you manage to pick a winning team. Whoever picks the goalscorer that scores earliest wins the 3 bonus points for this round.
  • The time of the first goal from the randomly selected fixture, Twente vs Willem II. This will be used to separate you if the goalscorer phase of the tie break is unable to.

This week's fixtures can be found below, starting on Friday.

Results - Gameweek Four

Casualties (1)

No massacres this week, but the roster is whittled down to just three players as @Pyfish best run of correct picks this season came to an end, FC Twente denied the three points at home to Willem II by a late Evangelos Pavlidis equaliser.

Congratulations on making it this far - you have scored 3 points and could still receive an additional bonus point for 3rd place if there is a tie for 2nd.

Survivors (3)

Feyenoord took one of the most emphatic wins we've seen this season early on Saturday afternoon, three goals in each half allowing them to hit VVV-Venlo for six, paving the way for league leader @Viva la FCB and @Rucksackfranzose, looking for his first Last Man Standing victory, into a fifth Gameweek. Also securing a fourth consecutive correct pick in what has probably been the best collective performance in any round this season was @...Dan, who backed Heerenveen ahead of their ultimately comfortable 3-0 victory against ADO Den Haag.

Congratulations to all three of you, that's 4 points each, with the opportunity to keep building this run and bonus points guaranteed for each of our top three. Please move along to Gameweek Five to make your next picks.

Preview - Gameweek Five

Below are the fixtures for Gameweek Five, which start on Saturday this time, accompanied by the updated league table. There is a rearranged fixture on Tuesday this week which is not a part of our Gameweek. Again, we will be making our tie break picks as insurance against a 0% win rate so please choose:

  • A match-winning team that you haven't used up to this point (see above). If nobody picks a match winner, the round will be settled by the tie break picks, starting with...
  • An anytime goalscorer, which doesn't have to be from the same game as your match-winner and isn't restricted in any other way, e.g. you can choose the same player as your unused pick from last week. If more than one of you picks a goalscorer, the one who scored earliest in their game will be the winner, and if none of you pick a correct goalscorer, or more than one of you choose the winning one, the round will be decided by the final section of the tie break...
  • The time of the opening goal in the randomly selected fixture, PSV vs Feyenoord. Whoever gets closest wins the round.

Results - Gameweek Five

Casualties (1)

Just one of our three surviving competitors fell this week. @Viva la FCB opted not to use the Ajax card still sitting in his back pocket after the first four rounds and instead backed FC Groningen, who could only rescue a point at home after trailing FC Emmen at half-time.

Viva ends this round with 5 more points on the board having made 4 correct picks and finished in 3rd place for a bonus point. He extends his lead at the top of the standings, having comfortably outscored Mel81x in this round, but those still kicking might close the gap yet.

Survivors (2)

In what is now officially the strongest performance of the season so far, we have a pair of survivors who have made 5 consecutive correct picks. The minimum 8 points that will go to the winner here will mark the highest score of the campaign. @Rucksackfranzose was the first to make it to Gameweek Six after AZ Alkmaar profited from two own goals and could even afford to give one back to FC Twente themselves in a comfortable 4-1 win. Also in this final showdown is @...Dan, who saved his Ajax card to play at the opportune moment, first half goals from Neres and Tagliafico seeing the runaway leaders past PEC Zwolle on the road. When the scores are updated after this round, @...Dan will become the closest rival to league leader @Viva la FCB and so his incentive to extend his run here is significant.

Congratulations to you both, 5 points on the board plus at least 2 bonus points for second place. Which one of you will take the Eredivisie crown?

Preview - Gameweek Six

The next set of fixtures start on Friday. I won't go into detail on the tie-breaker rules again but I will need you to pick:

  • A match winner that you haven't yet used.
  • An anytime goalscorer from any game.
  • The time of the first goal in the randomly selected fixture, PEC Zwolle vs VVV.

Below is the current table and the next set of fixtures:

Good luck to you too. I hope we both last another few weeks so we can get as many points as possible. I'll be hoping for a PEC win xD
