Really don't think this is the right move for either party to be honest. Might give you a short term shot in the arm but it's very risky.

Do you reckon there's any risk left?

I think Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd are currently at the lowest they can be due to financial resources. They can't fall further behind and there isn't much they can do to go forward either. Zombie football clubs. They're all doing the same thing with managers it's quite funny. Got nothing to lose and little to gain so the only hope of a bit of energy at the club is a respected ex player. Desperate times.

Over the years many have been annoyed at how long it has taken turd floaters like Sunderland to go down. Man Utd and Arsenal are the top half version of that lot. It would do football and those fans a world of good to collapse. A Gordan Ramsay tear them down to build them back up approach.

We’re only following the Alan Shearer playbook

I wouldn't put Chelsea quite on a par with Arsenal and Man Utd but otherwise agree.

Any change of mind after today?

Only reason Chelsea are in the top 4 is because of how shite the others have been. Typically Chelsea's results this season is fitting of a team about 7th.

Think I had us down for a 6th or 7th place finish at the start of the season, early results gave us good reason to think we might be able to hold on to 4th but only if we could maintain it... Don't think anyone saw United's, Arsenals and Spurs season going so tits up so early on which has allowed us to hold on to that without being under too much pressure, recent losses though will change all that soon..

Overall, it's been an okay season and he definitely would've been around next season but maybe should've waited to see where we finish first before offering a new contract.

Do you think your squad can cope with a European competition next season?

I think Arsenal have benefited this season of being able to have the break in between weekends - obviously that's just the situation and to get to 4th you've simply taken advantage of it in the right way.

But it'll be interesting to see how he/Arsenal fare in Europe again and what kind of signings you'll be looking to make in summer.

What was he currently on?

Agreed its a bit premature to extend it when we have no idea how they'll fair with European competition. The bloke was complaining about playing Wednesday and having the early kickoff on Saturday, which is genuinely normal routine with European competition...

Clearly the board and the players believe in him and what he’s putting together. I think this is perfect timing with the end of the season approaching, morale boost going into the final run in for top 4
