Yeah but he scores 1.5 goals a game. I seriously doubt city are better of without Haaland

Stats never tell the whole story.

Just walking away from the ground. Definitely offside. AND I’M HERE FOR IT. Can’t even talk.

Sorry this has happened to you.

Haaland has been a great signing for the rest of the big clubs in this league... proper leveled the playing field as he offers absolutely nothing if he's not scoring goals.

I'd go as far as to say he's useless in every other department.

I'm pretty certain city are better of with him than without. But I dont think he's gonna win a ballon d'or if his all round game isn't very good.

The law is apparently it isn’t interfering if he doesn’t touch it, so by the rules it’s fine. Not sure I agree with that though, he definitely is interfering with the play.

Don't they say if you are blocking the goal keepers view its offside even if you don't touch it? Personally I think it would be easier to say if you are in an offside position your offside or as long as you don't touch it your not offside. Take the interpretation out of it.

After 18 games they were 1st and had 5 more points last season.

I think it's both a combination of them not being as good (although the talent is far superior to everyone else's) and other teams being better. Arsenal, Man Utd, and Newcastle are better teams. Even the likes of Aston Villa, Brighton, Brentford, and Fulham have created a more competitive league.

What's your point then? I said I thought they are better of with him. Then you said they are worse of this season but there are other reasons for it

The rule should be if you make an attempt to play the ball, your’e offside. Rashford definitely would have shot if Fernandes didnt take it off him.

My point is that your point of them being "better" is incorrect. They aren't better. Haaland might not be the only reason but their system changing and them having less control is a reason. Just not the only reason. And they're definitely not better.

Big win for United, shouldn't be a win but that is what it is. I think Ten Haag has proven today that this team are a lot better than what they were 4 months ago and that is a good place for United to be in. I think United defended really well and that mid-range compact block really prevented City from playing, got to say City looked out of ideas and I don't know why they didn't try and overload the centre of midfield more.

Haaland really wasn't in the game at all, but I don't think that's necessarily his fault. You have a team today that aren't playing to his strengths and I don't know why, he was so isolated, just feed him the ball rather than try and intricately play it in wide. Cross the ball and he will cause havoc.

United are a long way off from looking like peak City and Liverpool did but they do look on the way. I don't get Antony, he may turn into a great player, but right now he just looks pretty ineffective. Garnacho should be ahead of him in terms of starting or first sub on.

I think Arsenal can take a lot from this game, better attacking talent than United and much more of a unified team than City are. They need to keep winning.

I didn't say they were better than last season. I said I think they are better of with him. Its always been very hard to win 3 league titles in a row its only been done a few times. If they had exactly the same team as last year doesn't mean they would have 5 points more now. Keeping players consistent for 3 seasons is very hard.

Wouldn't that lead to an interpretation though which may cause problems? I haven't seen the goal and it sounds as if this one would be pretty easy if your rule was used but others might be more complicated. If its black and white the interpretation is taken out.

It's been a while since Man City had a striker. It probably is taking some adapting to, for all the records being smashed. I think they'll figure it all out & have better days over the next few years..

Was Man United's midfield line up a bit new?

Kind of enjoyed seeing both Grealish & Rashford step out from the shadow people seem to enjoy seeing them in.

The offside rule has gone rogue.

Seems the rules change every week to suit whatever the arguement is, which leads to no consistancy, so no one has a fucking clue what's right or wrong anymore.

All I know is, one of these was offside, the other wasn't.

What was always obvious is no longer obvious.

And that sadly sums up the way the game has slowly gone in recent times.

Hats off to Shaw at CB. Made Haaland look like Gary Birtles.

Harsh on Garry Birtles, a two time European champion - a trophy that City have struggled to buy

Your defenders cant handle him, it was the midfield stopping the ball getting to him, that's the only way any team can stop him
