Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted December 2, 2017 Subscriber Share Posted December 2, 2017 Win 👊. Not many changes from Sam aside from the 'park the bus' substitutions which is fine given the situation we've been in. A back line including Martina and Williams has kept two clean sheets in four days. We are now 10th, eight points above the relegation zone and seven points behind Tottenham and Burnley in 6th/7th. Let's get after them.
IgnisExcubitor
Coutinho put in one of his best performance today. It's a sheer joy to watch him, when he plays like that. Our boy has magical feet. On a side note, I hope the Gini in the back experiment is never repeated again. Can't blame the lad, but he isn't suited there. Was also nice to see Robertson playing. Should be a good one. Massive news for United as well because they'll be able to shut him down without breaking a sweat. 5 minutes ago, IgnisExcubitor said: Coutinho put in one of his best performance today. No Matip or Gomez today, and Can-Lovren-Gini is preferable to just Can-Lovren by a long way.
Dickie
Some stoke fans are unhappy with this win because they think this'll keep hughes for more games, but I'm just happy we aren't going down at this rate at least.

True Blue
The bus should appear anytime soon , but to give a 0-2 lead inside 15 minutes is some terrible defending.
Administrator Stan Posted December 2, 2017 Author Administrator Share Posted December 2, 2017 Always gonna be a difficult game and low scoring. First half was a bit drab. Second half we were more expressive and creative and sort of came out of our shells. Burnley were physical as usual, but for all the possession they have I think their first shot on target only came in the 2nd half. Couldn't really tell what their game plan was and that was partly down to us scoring early. Think they wanted to soak up pressure and catch us on the counter. We defended well though and kept them at bay apart from a few set pieces which were half chances at most. Special mention to Ben Chilwell. Youngster who has come through our academy and keeping Fuchs out the side. Fuchs has a lot of work to do to get back in the aide. Chilwell links up well with Albrighton down the left, defends well, good aerially and also comfortable taking the ball forward. On the flipside, special mention for some totally abject officials. Some crazy decisions today. Never had any control of the game or over the players.

HK85
Shite first half. Better in the second, DCL deserved his goal, worked well and a great assist. Rooney looked good again in the deep role but Kenny and Holgate our best players. Even Williams and Martina were OK. In terms of Allardyce, not much changed from Wednesday night yet. Good sub with Keane though to get his head on them long balls from Huddersfield. They looked poor. Very little going forward.

Administrator Stan Posted December 2, 2017 Author Administrator Share Posted December 2, 2017 Surprised there's not been more credit for Puel in the media, too. Unbeaten in 4, taken us from 14th to 9th. Proving many haters wrong but still early days of course. Still not getting any sense that he plays boring football. If anything, totally opposite. Giving Mahrez, Gray and Albrighton so much freedom to remain creative and not holding them back in any way on the pitch.
