Ellen Page went from being a straight woman, to being a gay woman, to being a straight man. Not saying there's anything wrong with it but the stages he (will take some getting used to) went through is interesting. Is now Elliot Page.

Just seen this.

Always thought she was sort of 'tom boyish' but never knew she had identity issues.

You should make this a separate thread as they seem to be popping up all over the world now. :D

Monoliths: Why are strange monuments appearing around the world?

Shiny pillars have been erected without explanation at sites across the world

Monoliths have popped up in surprising places over the past few weeks, with the most recent appearing on a beach on the Isle of Wight.

Several of these tall, shiny pillars have now been found at sites around the globe without warning or explanation since mid-November.

The first was discovered in the US when a helicopter crew flying over a remote part of a Utah desert counting sheep spotted a strange statue.

This metal monolith was found on 18 November and disappeared just as mysteriously as it appeared on 27 November.

Around the same time as the Utah one vanished, a shiny metal monolith appeared on the other side of the globe in the Romanian hillside.

The structure disappeared several days after it was first spotted near the Petrodava Dacian Fortress, a local archaeological landmark in the northern Neamt country.

Shortly afterwards, a new monolith was spotted at the top of a mountain trail in southern California before it also vanished.

Then, over the first weekend in December, people stumbled across a tall shiny monolith on a beach on the Isle of Wight. The pillar was spotted on Compton Beach on the west side of the island.

https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2020/12/reddit-clone-voat-home-to-hate-speech-and-qanon-has-shut-down/

Reddit alternative Voat shut down on Christmas Day, citing a lack of operational funding, and casting doubt on the abilities of other similar almost-anything-goes, "free speech" platforms to stay online in the long run.

"I just can't keep it up," Voat cofounder Justin Chastain said in the shutdown announcement. Investment dried up in March 2020, he explained. "I personally decided to keep Voat up until after the U.S. election of 2020. I’ve been paying the costs out of pocket but now I’m out of money."

----

Whenever I read these stories I always wonder why there was no funding. Clearly there was a user-base to begin with just like Parler which is another cess-pool that probably needs to die a nice slow death but a part of me thinks the reason is that the funding cant truly be anonymous so the users shy away from getting involved.

Lol media outlets are even breaking their own records on what to call the Nashville white supremacist attacker. His dad's dementia was the problem, something wrong in his car, a nice tech guy who had family issues xD

A passenger plane disappeared 4 minutes after the takeoff from Jakarta early today. The signal was lost after the plane suddenly lost more than 3000m of altitude, so it probably crashed :(

Saw that earlier too. Apparently a very old Boeing jet as well?

Saw the footage of the altitude on flightradar and is sad to see it just dropped so dramatically :(

Yeah, it's a relatively old 737-500, but when well maintained, they are very reliable and also have a strong safety record. Indonesia sadly doesn't.

Local fishermen said to have witnessed at least one explosion and found debris in the waters north of Jakarta :(
