That looks a total mismatch. The quality of player you are inheriting this season is far superior.

Amazing to think you paid just £1m more for Ziyech over Drinkwater, £10m less for Werner over Morata and nearly £30m less for Silva over Rudiger.

Just crazy.

Could it be that there's a fuck load of bonuses that we wouldn't know about in contracts etc?

Easier way to negotiate a lower fee upfront?

It was the season our technical director Emenalo left as well. Just goes to show the misdirection Conte and our board had.

Not trying to jump into any conclusions, but Cech is already looking like an important figure for us upstairs.

@Cicero Why so hyped for Havertz? How much BL did you watch?

For a 21 year old to have the level of composure, control, elegance, and end product as he does, of course I'm excited.

I am livid with this one. For 62m upfront...we should have been all over it. Fuck sake.

What's wrong with your current front 3 ?

xDLike it's a small figure. There's only two more expensive players for Liverpool ever. I've no idea why you'd be livid about not signing a player we were never linked with

It’s not a small figure, no. But for this guy’s potential, it kind of is.

I’m livid because there’s a talented as fuck, young footballer available for transfer who would be perfect in our system and could have been a massive player in our team going forward. Instead, he’s off to a rival. Think it’s fairly normal to be a bit pissed off.

Roman spending all this money (no matter how much Marina magically brings the prices down), how much patience will he have with Lampard?

If they're not in the title race by Xmas, does he sack him? Roman clearly means business this season given all this money spent in one window alone. What silverware will be acceptable enough for him not to give Lampard the boot?

Had Firmino be in his 30's, i'd agree. I argued a while back that Havertz is probably the ideal replacement for Firmino in Klopps system.

Over the moon about this signing. Haven't been this excited over a new player since Eden Hazard.

I can kind of understand where people come from if we don't add another one or two to improve the squad in positions we really need them. But livid because we've not spent over £60m on someone who wouldn't start and we were never linked with? Nah, stop it

He's not far off it

Anyway, at least your profile picture might not trigger some people now!

Havertz would absolutely be pushing for a starting place straight away, he’s that good. He’s potentially a generational talent.

Why does it matter if we are linked or not, I can still be unhappy we didn’t make a move. Fucking sitting watching the club actively hinder the evolution of this team to save a few quid is irritating to save the least.

Havertz is exactly the kind of player Real Madrid have been targeting the last few years. I´m kinda surprised they´ve never really made a push for him. That indicates their finacial situation must not be that comfortable.

Roman spending? I think you seriously underestimate how much money the PL has. Sponsorships, TV deals, and everything in between, not mentioning that Chelsea also sell players at a premium. It isn’t 2004 anymore, I’d be surprised if Abramovic has to spend  these days.
