Well, guys, I am 71 today and just had a wee visit from our daughter and wee Kaiden which was great but horrible really as they stood at the end of the stairs, no kisses or cuddles and wee Kaiden singing "Happy Birthday Granddad...", once again FUCK THIS VIRUS!! Got some nice prezzies too and the card the daughter made was from a photo of me and wee Kaiden when he was 3 years old or thereabouts, one of her favourites photos and it's from wee Kaiden showing me how to assemble a bloody lego man ... Now 6 years old A nice pillow for my big fat arse and some Star Trek socks5 points

The annual Bundesliga relegation thread is open for business. We've got it all this season. A cover up, a chinese poet and stellar commentary from Martin Tyler.2 points

Wasn’t too bad. Except it was the toughest day of my school year so far. One of my students decided he didn’t want to be in the classroom and hopped literally hopped like a frog out into the blistering wind and rain. I am now on my way to a liquor store.2 points

My uncle died this afternoon. It´s such a tricky disease, we thought he was cured and then he ended up returning to the hospital last week and died there.1 point

I'm inclined to suggest that we move all the political speak about the UK to this thread from now on. Most of our friends from other parts of the world have been driven away from the actual Covid thread because of our obsessive ramblings about the UK's specific handling of it.1 point

You must remember these days then @CaaC (John)… The lowest form of accommodation in Victorian England was a place where you could for the price of a penny, dangle over a piece of rope for the night... I bet there used to be many of your tavern going nights where you ended up in places like this rather than going home to the rolling pin isn't that right mate..1 point

There are dumb and selfish people in every country, the point of government in a time of crisis is to guide and control the population anyway. It's not an excuse. You give out a clear message, set the example from top-down, and then you can keep the number of idiots low enough to be policed. Our situation is the result of mixed messages, no example being set, and police strength being decimated past the point of keeping control. If everyone was a genius and a paragon of virtue we wouldn't need to have a state in the first place.1 point

Hana Kimura also passed away last week. I haven't read too much in to it but it seems to have been suicide following the abuse she was receiving on social media. Only 22 as well. Unfortunately this was always going to happen one day. The Wrestling Community has always been one of the most toxic environments and it expands way before Twitter was invented. Even today I opened Twitter and Alexa Bliss was berating some virgin who said on a podcast she would be a crap shag so I cant see it changing any time soon.1 point

He's put in some good performances in when he's played in the cup and showed good leadership qualities when he was surrounded by very inexperienced players, given he's not that experienced himself. I think he would be better off going abroad to a league where the pace is a little slower. I'm not sure moving to a bottom half Premier League side would suit him. I think his ceiling might be a club with aspirations to qualify for the Europa League but he may have to drop down a little to get there first.1 point

It's coming across as a "do as we say, not as we do" type situation and a very arrogant stance especially from Cummings who thinks if he just keeps brushing it off as inconsequential because what other people think does not matter to him then everyone will get bored of asking him questions and the whole sorry saga will go away... It was equally laughable and insulting that he kept telling the media outside his house to make sure they are social distancing... Personally I don't give a fuck about him getting heckled outside his house because in all honesty any other time people and the media are asking questions they are either being ignored or dismissed out of hand so if that's the only way people can make it clear how they feel about it then so be it... As you say he has brought this on himself with his whole attitude toward it...1 point

Try to do it But the most important, image must be laser printed + upside down (mirror effect) I hope you understood my complicated explanation And prepare: - a piece of wood (possible with other materials but I am sure that wood is most appropriate) - wood glue (mix with water) - colorless varnish - and a lot of patience If you will need any advice, feel free to ask me. Good luck!1 point

I went to Durban which is east of Lesotho and south of Eswatini. Pretty much perfect for you. Do/can you drive? I ask as it's the best way of travelling in SA. Lovely long motorways (the one going up to Eswatini is partly along the coast) and if you wanted to stop there are plenty of places to do so. Everything so cheap there too so it wouldn't be an expensive trip (compared to literally everywhere else I've been anyway) - accommodation, food, alcohol, shopping/groceries. Also stayed in Nelspruit which is just west of the southernmost point of Kruger Park and north-west of Eswatini. If you're going all that way to SA I strongly encourage to go to Kruger Park1 point

Ye, a camel ride in the Saharan desert. I was only about 12 and spent around 5 of 14 days ill as fuck but the desert was the best part albeit being a long bus ride there if I remember correctly. Stayed in Sousse and had a day in the capital Tunis. It was an experience, other than catching some illness, and along with Athens was different to all the other holidays I went on as a kid with my parents. Most were on Spanish Islands and the Spanish coast.1 point

There we go. Lockdown rules are a matter of personal conscience. Everyone who let a relative die alone, missed a childbirth, or watched a funeral on a screen, just didn't care enough. They didn't care as much about their family as Dominic Cummings. I honestly didn't think these vermin could disgust me anymore than they already had.1 point
