Finally got my hands on Salsiccia. Boy, I'm going to cook the most authentic Bolognese of my life on Saturday! edit: With Tagliatelle of course.2 points

The first Willy Wonka novel was published in 1964. Werder Bremen was founded in 1899. So if anything, it's Willy Wonka who's the rip off!2 points

It’s not a dick thing at all to be fair. I’ve got plenty of best mates, but personally wouldn’t post pictures of their kids on a public forum without their permission. Each to their own. @CaaC (John) I actually brought this up first in our staff room for discussion. @Tommy isn’t a dick for bringing this to your attention. Whilst none of us are weirdos, anyone can see the pictures. Yes I post a couple of pics of my kids from time to time, but I take the risk and it’s my choice. If I found out someone else was doing it (even a friend), it would piss me off because it’s my choice, not theirs. I’m not having a go, just trying to discuss when someone else might be coming from.2 points

Yes, North of Afghanistan is the Tajik/Persian parts of the country. The Northern Alliance. It's been pretty much like this since the creation of the modern state. The conflict in Afghanistan at it's core involves infighting between different ethnicities & warlords within them. Then you have regional & global powers also protecting their interests. I don't know why they can't agree to a power sharing formula like in Bosnia.2 points

I should have mentioned they are chinese films and will be subtitled but they are the source material essentially for The Departed.1 point

Yep, mostly because of his kids. They want to go to school there, and he wants to finish his career there too. Shame that his time in Bremen had to end like that1 point

Is Selassie going back to Czech Republic? Shame, I always enjoyed seeing him play.1 point

If you like the Departed checkout the originals Infernal Affairs. I still like alot of The Departed and obviously the actors they pulled in are great but Infernal Affairs is just better in nearly every way. Theres also 3 installments, havnet seen the third but the second was also fantastic. Also I was just rewatching a bunch of zombie flicks recently and still the 28 days/weeks are the strongest for me.1 point

It must be quite a shock to Werder fans that the club plummeted down the table in the manner that they did right at the end of the season. Werder definitely had a squad that talent wise were Bundesliga material, but it looked like they didn't have the fight that other sides such as Mainz or Koln had. It will be a real shame if they are unable to keep most of their key players for the Bundesliga promotion push next season. But I have to admit that it does look likely that most of their notable players will leave. My commiserations to all the Werder fans, this is a very disappointing period in Werder Bremen's history.1 point

I watch every movie or series in it's original language with subtitles. Doesn't matter if it's English, French, Spanish, Korean or whatever. Everything loses authenticity when dubbed. I want to see the actors acting, and the voice is a big part of that.1 point

Sorry, I read this early in the morning, then fell asleep again and forgot all about it Well... It's clearly not flawless Robert de Niro's face when he's "talking German" just looks plain weird, that jaw especially.. same with Nicholson in French, thought that also looked weird. Tom Cruise, on the other hand, looked very passable. I have no doubts they will improve the technology in the future, although I hope they don't as a) I prefer watching original facial expressions and hearing original language, and b) this is soooo going to be misused for all the wrong reasons. I fucking hate deepfakes, think we're stepping into a very dangerous zone here.1 point
