  2. In my books he's already one of the best captains Liverpool has had in a long time. He's a positive influence on everyone in that team and a role model on and off the pitch. Doesn't really matter if he beats Steven's record because he's done more than enough to cement himself as one of the best at the club.

  5. Yes my daughter was also told to do strength exercises too. I think she finds it too difficult pain wise. She lives abroad and will probably visit next year and I will ask more about it. I did gym work after my injury too though could play a bit with painkillers. Eventually got fed up with taking pain killers and just stuck with strength exercises.

  7. Man City's average attendance didn’t drop below 26,500 between 1997-2000 when they were in the second and third tier which is extremely good. Have to feel for those fans at times like this.

  9. I emphathise as I had a teenage injury that stopped me playing too. My daughter at 19 was playing soccer and touch rugby at county level. She twisted her ankle in a local friendly match. My ex insisted their was a great surgeon locally and I counted with try an osteopath first just to see if there is anything they can do through manipulation. I lost that one, she had surgery on the knee not the ankle and two and half years later cannot run, too sore. She does cycle, and does other exercise like press-ups. She is now working too.

  10. Still got one, I bought this for the wife around 2001 I think it was and still works once charged and a new sim card put in it, you were right about the messages bit and this one has no camera or any other up to date things like WhatsApp etc, it's been sitting in a bedroom drawer for over 15 years.

  11. Who owned one of these??? If I remember correctly if you got more than 10 messages or something you had to delete some old ones before they would send the others through due to lack of space..

  12. Clearly will always be his fault. The amount of support the owners have given him and the club is unreal. Lets not also forget that he did the same thing at Bayern as well so from observation its really all down to him and not the resources he has.

  13. If he doesn't win the CL it's Pep's fault, he already has the team to win it bar maybe a real striker, the rest is down to him

  15. I'd do it just because, as you said, its a hobby and if you can get paid for a hobby then nothing like it. Are they offering you percentages of sales on the stock images?

  17. I have posted a few of my astrophotography images on social media recently, and have just received a partnership offer from a small media company that specialises in stock images Apparently, they want to me to regularly contribute astro-related images to them, with me earning a 60% commission. I am obviousy going to discuss terms and whatnot before I commit to it, but what are your thoughts? Decent opportunity to earn some passive pocket money?

  18. I'd imagine he will come close to Gerrards number by the time he leaves. Already one of, if not THE best captain Liverpool has ever had. His influence on and off the pitch is phenomenal.

  19. That was the first thing I played on their SNES emulator and… I forgot how fucking brilliant that game is. I probably hadn’t played a Metroid in 15 years at least.

  20. I've only just noticed this so sorry for the late reply. I didn't try and play football for about 3 years after, one because it was only amateur Saturday football and I felt it wasn't worth it and two because I was actually scared of anything going wrong again. The amount of physio involved on getting the leg functioning again was incredible. Eventually I could run but as anyone who's had a similar injury will tell you it's almost like your dragging your leg along with you. What I did do was get heavily into the weights and the gym, I basically bulked up muscle and rebuilt the strength in my knee with squats etc.. After 3 or 4 years I was asked by my ex manager to play for him on a Saturday, it was a disaster, my mobility had completely gone. I'd bulked up too much and my pace had gone due to the injury. I lasted about 7 games and told him I wasn't feeling it anymore and that I wasn't the same player due to the lack of pace. He actually agreed with me the injury had clearly effected me. Footballers have the best ops the best aftercare, I had a NHS op and a wooden bench for physio. I play five aside now but given I'm 39 my football days are over anyway so I try and play with my head rather than with speed.

  23. Late Saturday night my partners waters broke. She blames me creating a party atmosphere after Odsonne Edouard's debut. Anyway the waters broke but my partner never went in to labour. They gave her Oxytocin Monday afternoon which led to abnormally painful contractions. She was in the very small number of people that Epidurals have zero effect on. After 13 hours of being witness to what I can only describe as a live exorcism she had just dilated 3 centimetres as the baby wouldn't put his head in the engaged position and he was now very distressed. The doctors called for an emergency C-Section and thankfully that's where our luck changed. The spinal worked on my partner and Noah entered the world at 0718 weighing 6.7lbs. Him and mother have been doing very well and they're hopeful they'll be released tomorrow.

  25. Some of you know (I think), but my Dad was diagnosed with skin cancer a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday was his surgery and I went to see him today. Looks like they took off half his nose, but can't really see anything from all the heavy bandage. As someone who has been beyond blessed with healthy parents, this has been a wake up call for me this year after seeing my Dad get his ass kicked by COVID back in January and now this. But it does appear that they got all the cancer out after 2 attempts, but we'll know more once he recovers a bit more and goes in for his checkup.
