  1. RESULTS Life got in the way AGAIN so I was delayed getting results out but here we are up to date as of last night's games. If you drew, you remained with the current team with the exception of Rucksackfranzose who already said he wanted to move to Denmark after the England game. Sadly, we lose @Bluewolf as they ended up with Albania after the last group stage match who didn't make it through to the Round of 16. Everyone else is in with @Coma, @Lucas & @Tommy teaming up as Spain, @Viva la FCB & @Rucksackfranzose represent Germany, @Stan, @CaaC (John) & @nudge all are backing France, and I'm stuck with boring England. It'll now be a mad rush to the final with 2 groups facing off for the final! Here's how the table looks so far - remember there's a winner for Gloryhunter, and then the winners for the actual competition. Good luck ! I'll update after the quarter finals

  2. The latest supreme court decision is a head scratcher too. A president can now commit crimes as long as they're part of "official acts" but one president says they're not going to use that power and the presidential hopeful is gloating about how he will abuse this power. It's a strange decision because it effectively clears Nixon of all wrongdoing decades after he stepped down because he was going to be impeached for being a criminal. Surveys show it's another unpopular decision with most people, left or right - so it's interesting because I'm pretty sure there's nothing in the US constitution for America to reign in it's supreme court. But they've clearly got to do something about a group of unelected people who hold their position for life that routinely re-write laws of the US on a whim, even when they're deeply unpopular laws with the US electorate. Weird situation where the biggest threat to democracy and rule of law in the US are the people entrusted with protecting democracy and rule of law.

  3. He refuses to accept it's over for him. Surrounded by yes man, no one in his family to tell him enough is enough, cries on the pitch every other game. All very sad to see. Portugal show a lot of incompetence playing against teams who sit deep. We played one open game, against Turkey, and that brought the best out of us. I think the game against France goes to pens again.

  5. Unpacking takes fucking ages and I hate it. I moved in over a year ago and I think I've still got 2 boxes in the garage I just haven't been arsed to unpack. Probably should just unpack them and sell whatevers inside, because clearly it's not shit I ever need or use lol.

  7. Update on my situation; We are all moved in over the long weekend here. Everything went relatively smooth but my god im too old to do this again. Townhomes having 3 floors was not fun moving heavy furniture. Going in the idea is this is probably a 10 year home or so and im fairly sure we're hiring movers next time It was great to have a bunch of help though and we where able to move everything around to where we needed for the most part. Tired, sore, happy and still somewhat excited is the range of emotions over the weekend though... time to settle in and unbox bit by bit.

  9. Ask that woman in Las Vegas about Ronaldo’s ability to penetrate defence.

  10. That's a bit of an odd judgement, since Greifswald were never of any significance during the DDR Oberliga times. Bit like saying Feucht versus KSC would be an old BRD showdown.

  11. You mean calling an offside offside and a pretty usual procedure before Germany's first goal a foul?

  15. I think it's top football, in general. It's data obsessed and a dull watch to suit playing the percentages and nullifying opposition. Flair and creativity are dirty words and unless it's some miracle equation, football people aren't really interested and the entertainment value of football has suffered and it's not just this tournament, so often Premier League games are talked up and then a 0-0 draw is played out and everyone is bored stiff watching it.

  20. @The Palace Fan How comes the comfortably best defense of the tournament (your words) conceded against Denmark, if an average German defense, that was weakened by a banning on top, didn't? Edit: Perhaps England allowed so little xG because their opponents had the significant quality of not being able to score, well with the exception against the shit defenses of the other teams in their group?

  21. Fully deserved. I fucking love that guy. What a character he is too. One of those players you love to have on your team, but absolutely loathe him when he plays for the opponent.

  22. Good game. A lot of wasted chances, and a few players not really at their best. Especialy Kroos was pretty meh for his standards today I thought. Hopefully he'll bounce back in the quarter final. Schlotterback was pretty decent except for that one mistake. Rüdiger with another excellent defensive performance. Very important that he recovered in time.

  26. It was expected that he'd leave. We only triggered his buyout clause so we can get a small profit out of him. The only shame is, that the clause that he can leave for 6-6,5 Mio Euros runs out mid-July, and after that we could negotiate a larger sum. But it seems like Brugge triggered the original clause. The clause that he can leave for 6,5 Mio was pre-negotiated before he joined us on loan from Norwich btw.
