That must have been awkward to watch given he's from the previous regime, he's liked by the other board members present and he's delivering a message directly from the new regime that doesn't appear interested on first impression in integrating themselves. Quite telling the voting went 18-2 and the other club that voted with Newcastle was Man City. The new owners are all over the place because the takeover was out of the blue. Premier League caved after CAT hearing had them on the hook for a £10m+ compensation payment. Charnley should have been sacked first. Within 5 minutes of the takeover. That he hasn't been and that Bruce stayed for a week emphasises the leadership vacuum at the club right now. All that matters about sponsorship is that it is market value. We just gave Sports Direct 14 years of free advertising, probably worth in excess of £100m. Quote

Waylander Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 Find it interesting the Geordies have been told not to dress like Arabs, don't recall any of that when Abramovich came to Chelsea with people buying Russian type hats and things. Is there a real issue or is it just smoke and mirrors? Quote
Dr. Gonzo Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 They’ve uturned and said it’s alright if Newcastle fans want to dress up like Arabs if they want 1 Quote

Honey Honey Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Be interesting to see how long it lasts. David Beckham is criticised in today's papers for taking £10m from Qatar and saying nothing about homophobia. Would that article get printed it the Saudi takeover wasn't big news right now. I think not. Quote

Happy Blue Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) have been “disappointed” by their arrival at Newcastle as they are looking to buy Inter Milan, according to reports. Doing a u-turn already? 1 Quote

The Artful Dodger Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 France have had the backbone to nick one of the murders of Khassogi, what's the betting on those utter gimps in Newcastle attacking the French Police like they did Amnesty International? Quote

They released him because they got the wrong person in an identity mixup. And given how zealous France is with Islamophobia, I actually think that's pretty concerning if you're just an Arab guy who wants to visit France tbh. The incident is more of a stain on France than Newcastle, tbh. Not that it makes Newcastle fans twerking for MBS any better. Quote
Honey Honey Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Wonder what, since it is them and not the club is it something they said? Quote
Waylander Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Newcastle are somewhat of a mess just now, new boy Trippier starts and they manage to lose to Cambridge. Now they only have the league left and that will be a battle for survival. For me they need three decent players, Trippier was one they need another two though doubt that will happen. Quote
Waylander Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Watched a bit of them against Leeds. Both Trippier and Wood were heavily involved and generally they looked up for it with Newcastle having a better energy. Felt the result could have gone either way yet a massive boost for Newcastle. Think they need another signing to help them get out and stay out of the bottom three. Quote

We should have killed the game off, Shelvey forced a genuine save in the first and in the second the keeper had kept out Willock. We also should have had a penalty after going ahead. Quote
OrangeKhrush Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 if we stay up I think we need to add Haidara or James ward prowse, Bandieshile, Brannon Johnson and Fabio carvalho. maybe hire Poch as manager Quote
OrangeKhrush Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 newcastle take over was a deliberate rigging for failure. if we stay up it will be defying the odds. there was 0 reasons provided bybthe FA as to why the takeover never happened in the off season. the idea was to let Ashley damage the team more get related before half way and force a rebuild from the championship. the attitude of the "big clubs have been nothing short of that girl that is threatened when a new girl that is hotter joins the school. we have also spent less money than every take over from Chelsea to Everton. people need to stop being pathetic Quote

Given the money you have spent I don't think "defying the odds" is an adequate term. You've taken Burnley's biggest goal scoring threat for the past couple of seasons, signed a potentially world class midfielder and strengthened your defence. There's no reason to suggest you shouldn't finish above Burnley, Watford and Norwich regardless of any point deficits at the minute. Quote
Honey Honey Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Even with the spending we are not getting more than 33-35 points with our fixtures unless we are suddenly a top 6 form side overnight. The spending gives us a better chance of getting to 35 points than without. However there's no reason at least one of the others around us can't also get to that tally. This is a scrap til the end. We have given ourselves a better chance of that, but will need 20+ points in our remaining games to get through. It is a tough ask. Quote

There are a few games that we could nick a draw or shock win but we will need the 2019 Rafa magic or last seasons miracle of Willock to get us going. We have lost 21 points from leading and that is why we are at the wrong end. The idea was to stop leaking goals but also give us more options to move the ball forward when prior to the window it was just ASM and Wilson. Quote
