Expand Honestly this. As much as we can respect and romanticise it but class difference is a big thing in relationships.

Guest Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 I'm not personally convinced that age is an excuse to have racist views. @CaaC (John) and @Bluewolf are past 60 and they arent racist. It's more about how you adapt to new moral ideas. There weren't trans right when I was young and there was still a lot of homophobia but I adapted

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted March 18, 2021 Author Subscriber Posted March 18, 2021 I hadn't really decided whether I was laughing at how shocking that is if it's true, or how farfetched the story is. UNIQUE Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 everyone is atleast a little bit racist even if they dont admit it. its human nature to give more favour to your own race and that starts at a subconscious level.

Expand It's weird really, I'm in my 60's too but don't fit in with the common misconception that 60 odd year old white men are more likely to be more racist because of the era we grew up in. It's bollocks to generalize like that.
Guest Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 @Scouse_Mouse I was never suggesting that all people over 60 are racist. However statistically they are more likely to be. Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted March 30, 2022 Author Subscriber Posted March 30, 2022 William and Kate's latest tour of the Caribbean islands that still technically have the Queen as head of state wasn't exactly well-received. There were a few protests in Jamaica and Belize have started the process of removing her as head of state. Good, to be honest. It's ludicrous to pretend that she "rules" over those countries in any way. The only good or relevant thing about the Commonwealth is the Commonwealth Games. It was also reported that Kate Middleton's wardrobe for the trip cost £35,000 or so. It's so ridiculous. I read that out to some of my family members on Sunday and my Dad, who has to "both sides" all of these things started trotting out excuses while I was going off about how unjustified it is for them to be spending that much money on her having five different designer outfits a day while there are people using food banks back home and having to choose between filling up their cars or heating their home. He even trotted out the debunked excuse about "tHe RoYaL fAmIlY bRiNg MuCh MoRe In ToUrIsM rEvEnUe ThAn ThEy CoSt". That is the UK's problem though. Otherwise sensible people being brought up believing that the royals truly are beyond reproach and being unwilling to challenge their own views. £35,000 on clothes for a tour of the Caribbean though. And what for? The more you think about it, the more of an insult it is to their "subjects".
