I'm just going to assume someone higher up told him he needs to start winning or he's off. Norwich then won and Farke shouted "in your fucking face" to the person so they sacked him.

All adds up.

I wonder whether they have pulled the trigger quickly because someone they had their eye on is getting tapped up by someone else. Lots of sackings going on at the mo so competition for available managers will be fierce.

Steve Bruce to Al Sadd?

Seems they decided midweek but didn’t want to rock the boat before what was a massive game with Brentford.

He’s done really well at Norwich, getting them promoted a couple of times. Staying up is another matter and they’ve struggled to do that under him.

To be fair, he’s not been backed in the market either time. They have a squad of championship level players.

He's maybe been on the brink for a few weeks and the club have decided to the international break is the correct time to make the call to give them time between fixtures to get their man.

They've also had issues with their star player Todd Cantwell who Farke had frozen out.

Steve Bruce would be a good call for the position to be fair, United bought him from Norwich so there is a connection as well.

Frank Lampard is the bookies' favourite. I'm not sure this would be the job for him.

The decision, if they want to be more than a continual yo-yo team, is probably fair but the way they did it harsh.

You simply have to be taking the piss here.

My opinion.

The guy has a wealth of experience and is a better manager than you clearly think he is.

You don't get to 1000 games in management if you are a bad manager.

He hasn’t moved on with the game. Look at the recent years of his career, it’s a shit show. He’s & Allardyce are on their way out, no more ‘jobs for the boys’. They’ve show to be very very limited in management and it just doesn’t cut the mustard anymore.

You can get to 1000 games but doesn't mean you are a good manager through all of those. Steve Bruce is pretty much past it and has been for several years, even before the Newcastle years.

Football has moved on, Bruce's best days were before the Guardiola inspired football revolution of an enhanced use of systems over flair/individual moments and an increase in technical level amongst goalkeepers and defenders. The last few jobs Bruce has had he's either been sacked as manager in the Prem or he got the team relegated. By the time he was sacked this season they had accumulated 4 points. Last season his side had no idea what they were doing and I don't think he'd of done as well as he did in terms of points if he hadn't of just taken over a group of players drilled and organised by Rafa.

Objectively he would be a hilariously bad appointment for Norwich.

Bruce has pretty much always been a terrible Premier League manager although up until about six or seven years ago, you could at least say he was a relatively decent Championship manager. You can't even say that now. He'd be awful for Norwich. Shouldn't be considered. He was sacked this very season for dragging a club into the mire.

I suppose Norwich could go for the standard "firefighter", the natural call in this. Large Samuel. The Rotund Chap. The Portly Fellow. He Who Arises In Lard. Sir Widebottom. But his mystique is gone now. Wilder might have been a good shout but he's gone to Boro.

Lampard? I'm not a believer in having to hire managers who are experts in relegation scraps (these managers lose more than they win. Winning gets you out of a relegation scrap. It doesn't make sense) but I'm really not sure this makes sense for him at this point.

Someone like Nuno would be a reasonable call providing he's mentally ready.

I think Nuno needs a break. He looked like a broken man last season as his Wolves struggled - and I don’t think that stint at Spurs did him any good for his mental health.

Nuno should go abroad and get a job at a biggish team imo, he’ll only get another Wolves level job in England. Chance to prove himself at a higher level

Lampard 4/5 favourite at the minute. I can see that to be honest though not convinced they're going to be saveable. I think Allardyce wrongly gets tarred with some managers (he's a level above a Bruce for me) but I don't think he's the answer in this situation either. It's too much like West Brom, which was just a poor move from him.

Would be a poor career move for him in my opinion. Almost guaranteed relegation and a return to the Championship which isn't easy to bounce back from. Then again, you don't know whether he'd get a better offer.
