Wrong, it means everything. It won't happen, but just the thought is burning people up.

You're right that fizzy drinks are bad for you and tea isn't (and coffee barely is) but I don't think there's any basis for removing fizzy drinks from the free market. Even a can of coke a day, which is awful for you, won't fuck a kid up the way a fat red bull can a day will. Both on sugar and caffeine basis. I don't think kids under 12 or so should drink coffee, but that's a different kettle of fish.

Removing fizzy drinks is only a step away from banning maccas and the like. Whereas Mother, Red Bull and V are fucking poison, and marketed at kids. Every online influencer has their own energy drink FFS

Can't argue with any of that really. I have had energy drinks in the past (being the dull twat that I am) and why I thought it was a good idea to have them is anyone's guess. Wouldn't drink them again now though.

As for the part in bold, I have seen some advertising G-Fuel, which is pretty disgusting really. I'm not really that arsed with influencers in general, but am aware that they can sway kids with that sort of advertised shite. Didn't know many had their own energy drink mind.

It is still going the same at the moment on the whole Northern Ireland thing.

No sign of the DUP accepting the terms of Brexit arrangements.

The EU & Ireland very willing & very keen to have meaningful discussions. Except on the bit the DUP hate. The only bit that it seems is actually being questioned. And that the Conservatives are trying to retrospectively change without anyone else's consent. And risking Ursula von der Leyen, Goddess of the Free World, taking them to Euro Court. But they are willing & keen to have meaningful discussions. Just not on that bit.

For me, it's 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. All as unyieldingly petulant, touchy & sour with anyone not into their union as much as they are.

And yes.. I did notice Boris Johnson making Putin jokes at the G7 table. And have since read of Macron's concept of some European community, apparently to cover those not in the EU. Arguably sounding like the 2 grown ups in the room. Which says plenty.

What the actual fuck is wrong with this lot? Less than a week after there was a double by-election for a Tory MP who resigned because he was a sex offender and another Tory MP who resigned after watching pornography on his phone in the workplace.

Comes along with the story that Johnson tried to get Carrie a job on a six-figure salary in the Foreign Office when he was Foreign Secretary having an affair with her while his wife at the time had cancer, and it only got blocked because their affair came to light after another MP walked in on her noshing him off in his parliamentary office.

I know I don't half go on in this thread but that's how much it takes just to keep up with the scandals.

Also just read on Twitter that Pincher had to have a 'minder' to stop him getting so drunk at a private member's club. And then he still ends up getting promoted anyway.

Rotten to the core is this government. Absolute charlatans.

Rotten to the core is this government. Absolute charlatans.

He had to step down from the same or a similar job in 2017 apparently because there was some sort of complaint lodged against him and yet "Boris" appoints him as Deputy Chief Whip again. xD

This is nothing new though. Never forget that after Gavin Williamson was sacked from Theresa May's cabinet for leaks while he was *Defence Secretary* and was then appointed as Education Secretary by Bozo and oversaw the Covid exams disaster, the Covid school closure disaster and ended up with a knighthood for what is clearly an impeccable record of service to the country in government.

As always, you can just imagine the reaction to all of these stories and how much more severe the narrative would be if all of these scandals were played out by a Labour Party in government.

Literally imagine if it emerged that Jeremy Corbyn or Keir Starmer tried to bag their 24 years younger mistress a six-figure salaried job which is paid out of the public purse while they were using their parliamentary office to carry on their affair while their wife was undergoing chemotherapy for cervical cancer. I actually think peoples' personal lives and the impact it has on their job in politics are overblown but the double standards are astounding.

A rats nest...

Former Tory deputy chief whip Chris Pincher is the latest Conservative MP to bring unwanted attention to the party after he dramatically quit the role following a drunken incident.

Mr Pincher said he had “embarrassed myself and other people” after having had “far too much” to drink.

The Sun reported that he stood down after assaulting two fellow guests at the Carlton Club – a Tory Party private members’ club in London’s Piccadilly – on Wednesday evening.

– Imran Ahmad Khan

Former Tory MP Imran Ahmad Khan was jailed for 18 months in May for groping a 15-year-old boy in 2008.

– Neil Parish

Mr Parish, a farmer by trade, quit his seat in Tiverton and Honiton in May after being caught watching pornography in the House of Commons.

– David Warburton

Mr Warburton, who represents Somerton and Frome, had the Conservative whip withdrawn in April after allegations of sexual harassment and cocaine use emerged.

– Andrew Griffiths

Former Conservative minister Andrew Griffiths was found to have raped and physically abused his wife by a family court judge who considered evidence at a private trial in 2021.

– Charlie Elphicke

Ex-Tory MP Charlie Elphicke was jailed for two years in September 2020 after being found guilty of three counts of sexual assault following a month-long trial.

During his trial, jurors heard how he had asked one of his victims about bondage and sex, then kissed her and groped her breast before chasing her around his home, chanting: “I’m a naughty Tory.”

– Rob Roberts

Rob Roberts was stripped of the Tory whip last year after the Independent Expert Panel (IEP) found he broke the sexual misconduct policy by making repeated and unwanted advances to a man.

– Unnamed Tory MP

In May this year, a Conservative MP was arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault offences spanning seven years.

Scotland Yard said the unnamed man in his 50s was also detained on suspicion of indecent assault, abuse of position of trust and misconduct in public office.

It isn't time for talk of rejoining but public sentiment is shifting against Brexit. Starmer keeps making these "set piece" announcements that amount to very little. He's obviously miles better than Johnson but it's disappointing that he still feels unable to take the opportunity of the government's weakness and unpopularity to actually try and convince people of something, I don't know when he will.

"The topic was discussed on the Lorraine show on Friday morning with resident GP Amir Kahn saying: "There is no real evidence for long-term damage from caffeine in tea and coffee so let us be proportionate – a ban is probably not necessary." The consultation will run until September 1, 2022."

You've been bamboozled by a headline. They are almost certainly not going to action that.

I have IBS, caffeine drinks help things like peppermint or ginger tea do not.

Zahawi appointed Chancellor.

God forbid Dorries gets an important role. She's already fucked up several times in her current one. Can't imagine she'll be a success anywhere else. Been an abomination.

Yeah it's sickening how some long time rebels on the back benches are praising these two for their bravery and leadership.

Get fucked. They propped this cunt up through Brexit, Covid chaos, Owen Patterson, Partygate, breaking the law, lying to parliament and all of the forgotten smaller scandals that any normal person would have resigned over in between.

They are terrible. Javid in particular for going back into government having resigned once in the past under Boris Johnson. The only thing that's changed right now is their perception of the calculus around their careers and electoral interests.

Cunts. Need a good decade in opposition, preferably longer, before any of them should be trusted again.

England truly is a mad old country. Reading an article on the BBC about someone wanting Javid and Sunak as leaders of the country....they have all been involved in this absolute sack of shit. Countless lies, law breaking and efforts to break the basic human rights of refugees.

There is an irony in them resigning over someone who has previous for sexual harassment being given a job by Johnson but no one raising an eyebrow at the Rwanda deal, which was directly inspired by Australia's efforts on Manus Island....which was a human rights clusterfuck.

If only that would have been his stance in 2019

I"m fairly sure anyone with that stance within Labour was pretty much seen as Nigel Farage around that time.

There's certainly a growing sense of this not being what many expected. And not just the bits about more difficult trade & restrictions on people's ability to move where they want to. It's the level of American condemnation. How New Zealand's PM pointedly was visiting 'Europe'. The inability to get something all Irish & EU can or will accept. Attempts to break the international laws.

What direction the sentiments go, I think mid to long term hinges on what Scotland do. If the SNP get their way, Britain will make Ireland seem easy & calm tranquillity. And would likely ramp up an idea that whatever is left with England perhaps is as well to be back in the EU (complete with Euro currency?) fairly quickly.

If the SNP lose again. It may settle down to finding a leader that can 'make it work' and so that's why Starmer likely seems to sit on so many fences. He puts too much of a vision & sales pitch, he's either not much better than Boris Johnson, or pretty much in the SNPs pocket. And both would have issues.
