I'm surprised that he didn't find himself getting a lucrative Saudi contract given his name value. One of Chelsea's best players in the last ten years also turned out to be on the best pieces of business they did when they sold him. He is still only 32, few top footballers retire at that age, unless they have a very serious injury. It's incredible really how his career went from great success at Chelsea, to real struggles at Real Madrid. He also carved an excellent career out with the Belgium national team, having played 126 international games and having scored 33 goals for Belgium. Can't see him returning and even then his retirement is mostly down to not enjoying football anymore considering he's essentially suffering the same injury that took Van Basten out. Yes, I've just read Hazard's statement on his retirement, it doesn't sound like there is any chance that he will return to play again. We certainly saw the best of him, such a shame it went downhill so rapidly after his dream move but injuries and fitness kept him out of the side for long periods and when he was fit he was unable to command a place in the starting line up..
