I know I'm 20 years out of date here but I think if the contact isn't enough to make the player go down, and then the player throws themselves down, then it should be a booking for a dive, especially in the penalty area. That's not what football is anymore though unfortunately.

Same as any other part of the pitch, if you wouldn't give it as a foul there, don't give it as a penalty if the same thing occurs in the box.

Richarlison's problem at Spurs is that his best position is out on the left but that place is currently occupied by Son. He wasn't very effective for us when he was shifted into the middle either. He plays there for Brazil but he's neither that fast nor that physical and you generally need to be one or the other to play as a centre forward in the Premier League. He's a wide forward/second striker.

Defending just a bit too slow for the goals, we don’t concede them if Mee is playing imo. Problem with the back 3 is none of Pinnock, Collins and Ajer hold the same captaincy ability that Jansson did and Mee does. So some growing pains to come whilst Mee is out and Collins and Ajer settle.

Rico Henry has been a man possessed,  so dominant down the left and exploiting Spurs reliance on attacking the central areas. It’s clear to see which team are further in their development but Spurs just have that quality in the likes of Son, Maddison etc. Not to mention Maddison always scores against us.

Expect to see more goals in the second half, hopefully we can bring on Kevin Schade or Keane Lewis-Potter and put their wing backs to the test as that’s clearly their weakspot currently, alongside the keeper.

Think Mings injury two days after Buendia’s shocked our players, as you could see from Konsa mistake for the third, normally you had Mings barking at him and Pau didn’t as that’s the first time they’ve played together no shout and Isak pinches it and it’s 3-1. After that the just looked shell shocked as you would two top players gone in 48hours for the year. The game was over our heads drop as they’re distraught. They’re not like the squad of yesterday there’s so much work going into the players socialising together, families socialising, kids play together etc so they’ve taken injuries very hard.

3-1 down Newcastle are overrunning us in midfield and they just wanted to go home you could see it. 5-1 looks like we got pumped all game we were actually quite competitive in spells.

the club is cursed, last year ACL first game, this year ACL first game plus Buendia in training, we are fucked squad depth in tatters 🙄

Did son and richarlison do anything

Son did but looked rusty and slower as the game went on. Richarlison was useless and purely marked out of the game really. Had one chance on target but not much else. Son should have scored but mishit a shot.

Spurs will need to invest in a new striker,  but everyone knows they have cash now.   Ferguson was mentioned a few pages ago and he will not be less than Hojland like money

Given what @RandoEFC said about Richarlison, I wonder if it's worth having him on the LW and Son up front.

They definitely do need someone though. Can't rely on Richarlison all season and sounds like Veliz won't play much while he adapts to UK.

Think with Maddison playing where he is Spurs won’t want a Kane type player. I think Ferguson would be a great signing but Levy not being able to afford David Raya I can’t see him spending close to £100m on Evan Ferguson.
