It's probably not the case but that Liverpool performance almost came across as if they themselves believed it was going to be a case of how many they'd win by. Referee shows a yellow for that dissent. Dalot shows more of the same kind of dissent. Therefore, second yellow for the repeated offence. If anything, it is consistent. A side in bad form, with a manager under pressure, and several injuries, is going to turn up to their rivals compact and to defend. Especially if the last time they came around they got humiliated. But we’ve also not been in the best form in the past few weeks, imo that Palace match was a miserable performance. The Fulham match was inconsistent. That we struggled against a side set up to make it hard for us to score doesn’t surprise me. Next week is more important because Arsenal will actually look to play. If he doesn't stop after the first booking then yeah it's another yellow card but you've got to give some sort of cool down time in between. He's given him about 5 seconds if that to calm down and then resorted to the second yellow. Yeah I was gonna say, how do you give someone a few seconds to just calm down? He’s clearly pissed off, give him the yellow and let it register and let him cool off for a bit. I think it’s remarkable we’ve gone off the back of last season which was shit, basically bring in a whole new midfield, and be legitimately in the title race. It’s understandable to be pissed off, I am too that was a bad performance and 2 points dropped. But considering that’s a bad performance and we were hardly threatened by our biggest rivals, that also easily could have gone worse. It’s still a long season left and at this point I think if you told us this is where we’d be on the league table today after the first match of the season… we’d all be taking that. If the first half of the season is any indication this is a wide open title race. I still think City are favourites, they are the only team I can see going on an insane run that just pulls them way ahead. Just enjoy the ride and see what this team can do. Football doesn't always work out like that though.
