It's tragic to see, really. One player targeted by thousands of fans pretty much each game he plays in away from Real.

Always makes me think what do other black players in teams of the fans that are abusing him feel?

The argument these idiots make is that they're not racially abusing him because they dislike him for being black. They're racially abusing him because they just dislike him so it's okay... brainless clowns.

Good! They also arrested three people from the incident on Sunday, and four people who hung that Vincius effigy from the bridge back in January! 4 months ago, and only now they have arrested them. Surely a big media outcry helps, but it is a shame that it took them so long.

But as I said before, Vinicius is going all out on addressing the issue and accusing the people who should deal with it better, and it seems to work!

Ian Wright said it best, the slogans don’t work and they need to be hit where it hurts the most, in their wallet. No surprise this action is only being taken now the entire footballing world are watching.

The effigy is truly mental, a stark visualisation of their hatred for a black man.

Clubs need to be pressured into ensuring they act on these braindead goons.

Kinda shocked and lost for words that this is still such a big issue tbh. Same with social media. So much more can be done, and pointless campaigns for PR isn’t working.

Charges and hefty fines given out:

Quote

Seven people have been punished for acts of racism towards Real Madrid's Brazil forward Vinicius Jr.

Four men were fined 60,001 euros (£51,700) and given a two-year stadium ban for hanging an effigy of Vinicius near Real's training ground in January.

The four men were arrested 11 days ago and released on bail by a Madrid court.

Three other people were fined 5,000 euros (£4,300) and banned for one year for making racist gestures during Real's game at Valencia on 21 May.

Those three are aged between 18 and 21, the police said, and were detained two days after the game.

The sanctions were given by Spain's State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport, said the country's Sports Commission on Monday.

Great news to see convictions, but also, just 3....feels like it was entire stadiums at one point

Yeah it's nice seeing convictions, but at the same time... there's far more people who were guilty of the same offense at the same time that are walking away with no reprecussions
