SchalkeUK Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Having spent a lot of time in both cities my answer would be Liverpool every time over London. The 'smoke' is too full of in yer facpeople who have little respect for anything other than money and the cost of living is horrendous. I know that isn't important to overpaid footy players, but for the kids Liverpool isn't paradise, but much nearer to there than London is on all counts. Don't assume that just because it is a bigger city it is a bigger attraction. Liverpool has come on leaps and bounds these last few years and the Schools and Unis there are as good as any in the country for the youngsters. Not sure if this is anything other than a silly discussion!
SirBalon Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 We have many cases of wives or long term girlfriends dictating where a player moves or even if he does move, she doesn’t and stays where she was which dictates the player being comfortable or not when he has gone ahead and made the move anyway. I can name a few off the top of my head; Dani Alves moving to Juventus, his wife didn’t want to live in the north of Italy and stayed in Barcelona where even now she still lives while he’s in Paris. Thibaut Courtois tried to move heaven and earth so as to not go back to Chelsea as his girlfriend who is from Madrid didn’t want to move to London. He has continued to entertain moves since back to Spain. Leonardo Bonucci didn’t make the move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid because his wife didn’t want to leave Italy and she infact wanted to return to Milan which ended with the player moving to AC Milan from Juve. David de Gea who is a more famous case here in England with his singer long term girlfriend Edurne leaving Manchester because she just didn’t like the place and made some very public comments. It’s known that De Gea isn’t comfortable with that situation even though he’s generally happy at his club Man Utd. Luis Suárez who’s wife has lived in Barcelona since she was a teenager never moved to Liverpool while the Uruguayan was playing there and it’s known that this situation really hampered him being totally happy living in Liverpool. Zinedine Zidane originally moved from Juventus to Real Madrid because his wife is Spanish and she couldn’t take the weather or lifestyle in the north of Italy. This was the original reason for Zidane’s move although in the end settled into the lifestyle and the club (Real Madrid). Zidane was very happy playing for Juve.

I think you'd be surprised though most will live in small towns outside London, but seeing as they'd train in/near London and essentially be a short drive or train journey away, the lifestyle for someone with that sort of money is still there.
Honey Honey Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Most players sit in the house playing FIFA all day.
SirBalon Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Maybe Aubameyang’s pet cat doesn’t want to move to London.
Panna King Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 Aubameyang all agreed, he will have a medical or already has, should sign today or tomorrow, once he comes in Giroud will leave to join Chelsea, either on loan or a transfer.

Panna King Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 He has arrived in London Colney so will shortly be confirmed by Arsenal.
Cicero Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 At the training ground I heard. Good move for Arsenal as they can firmly hold that 6th spot.
SirBalon Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Well it was only two summers ago Real Madrid went all out to sign Aubamayang but we’re quoted a ridiculous price at the time due to his form. Now the proof is in the pudding!

He is 29 this year, it does seem a lot of money for a player who has not been on form recently plus how many years are you going to get out of him, the signings like Xhaka and Lacazette, it just stinks of pure desperation.
Dave Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is having his medical at Arsenal.
Honey Honey Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 £60m for a player Mike Ashley's puppets who run the club said was too expensive 4 years ago, we signed Riviere instead for £6m

He has already signed, Arsenal put his video out on the internet on their website this morning, it was taken down 30 minutes after. This was probably a trick so it takes the story away from Wenger again after last nights game.
Panna King Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 The 28-year-old has joined us from Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract for a club-record fee. Our second signing of the January transfer window, Auba is one of the world’s most highly-rated strikers. He scored 98 goals in 144 Bundesliga games for Dortmund and had a hand in 172 goals in 213 matches in all competitions for his former club. https://www.arsenal.com/news/pierre-emerick-aubameyang-signs-club#50S7wmDIrXKz4Ekm.99
True Blue Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 We are getting the worst deal of the three striker rotation , i hope i eat my words.
The Artful Dodger Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Seems like a low price given his record in a decent league. Lacazette has been awful so it's good they acted swiftly rather then continUig with him. Hodgson signed Suarez so maybe this could be his last good thing he does.
SirBalon Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Like I said in a previous post, the quality and the talent is there. The question is his hunger because he’s had a dodgy two seasons and if the stories surrounding his flirtation with China is true, then coupled with his recent form, that’s where the questions marks surrounding his hunger come into play. If he’s prepared to want to be one of the best again then we’ve signed a tremendous player that should benefit us no end.
Panna King Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 We do need a striker but I am not really that excited as the same problems will remain with the defence and midfield.
