Today for lunch I made "Chicken ground steak".

It's chicken meat cut really small, marinated over night in homemade mayonaise, herbs, onion and garlic. Then mixed with flour and eggs so you can form sort of a steak out of it. Apparently they eat that in the Ukraine, but with pork, beef or fish instead.

That looks gorgeous, going to give the wife a break from cooking today so I am going to have a slapdash John meal, once a month treat now that I am losing weight of pork chops, chips, beans and eggs (boiled for 3 minutes, not fried).

Can confirm there are no pineapples anywhere near the making of tuis pizza.

Pretty much ran out of groceries today as it was a 5 day holiday, so just tossed some cabbage, bell pepper, onion in the wok along with some chili sauce, salt, pepper, turmeric and paprika powder, and then wrapped everything in a naan. BAM - an instant hit was born xD Seriously good for a quick evening meal.

Can't go wrong with a chicken wing-fest on a barbecue on a sunny Bank Holiday.

Happy days.

Sometimes when I'm making a stir fry and suddenly feel too lazy to make rice I do the same thing, except with a tortilla wrap.

I love it when wee Kaiden is here for the night, I get to have one of his favourites, Scottish Pan Cakes, warm them up in the Micro for 2 minutes then add some butter and golden syrup on top, Lovely Jubbly as Del boy would say. :P

Bit off topic but on Monday I had my first ever milk cake in a dessert joint. I like coconut so purchased the coconut flavor. I never knew milk cakes tasted so good.

Is there a dish you tried cooking a few times but just can't get it right?

Chicken marsala.  The wine sauce never comes out right and the mushrooms are limp and tasteless.

Made "Chicken Kiev" from scratch for the first time. It turned out a lot better than I had anticipated. But there's still room for improvement and I know what to do better next time.

Still pleased with the outcome though. The whole thing took me 2 1/2 hours. xD

Quite the cook....

2 and a half hours though... pretty sure I would have died of starvation before it was ready...
