Did you not take a bit of time out then after hurting yourself... ??

I took Friday off so I could get the surgery I needed. I came in today though, I regret it.

They’ve given me some poor unpaid intern to be my assistant for the next few months. I feel a bit bad because instead of getting useful experience for the uni class credits this internship is giving him... he’s basically just going to write emails for me and open things I can’t. Easy job though, I guess, and if he ever uses me as a reference I’ll say he shits gold and they’d be morons not to hire him... so not all bad for the poor fucker.

If I get a recommendation or Reference along those lines it goes straight in the bin... xD

When you phoned in sick did you do the sick voice that goes with it???

One of the most enjoyable things ever is taking a phone call from someone who is blowing out on some fake illness or injury and they create this soft fake phone voice to make it sound like they are on deaths door or something... I let them tell me whats wrong as they explain they hurt their leg or knocked their arm or something and then I ask them what's wrong with their voice??? You normally get a bit of a silent pause from them while they process that in their head before saying.. "nothing" and suddenly their voice is back to normal...

Haha, text message.

Tell you what annoys me at work when you're managing people... when they compare themselves to other employee's. Like... "John Smith got an upgrade on the other shift so i think i deserve one" People would be so much more successful if they focused on themselves rather than being jealous of how other people are doing.

What you doing?

Nothing 😂

Admin for an education company undergoing big changes, working with the CEO. Nothing amazing because it's basic admin, but working with the CEO means she's got her hands full with actual work all the time and until she remembers she needs to feed me some admin shit I literally have nothing to do.

Just spent a couple days listening to Graham Hunter's book on Spains treble winning side with little to no interference lol

My new job, quite regularly, involves me doing absolutely nothing all day. And I mean that. Easiest money I've ever worked for haha

I know it's easy money but do you not get bored?

I do get bored but I'm only on a short term contract so manage to pass the time tbh, if it were a permenant job I'd be out of my skull. Different expectations and perspective.

As I said above I spent about half a week listening to Graham Hunter's book on Spain's treble winning side which not only passed the time but was very interesting and just a well written book. Plenty of football and comedy podcasts to listen to and probs gunna listen to his book on Barce also.

I get to watch people deteriorate physically and mentally over a period of time before they die. Yeah for me.

In all seriousness though, I get a lot of job satisfaction. It’s just that I feel we see a lot and don’t get the mental support we sometimes need.

What do you do?

He’s a legend in a tough sector. A great man. I respect him for his career, but I’ll let him answer it for you.

I am now on holidays, two weeks of almost doing nothing. (Second week of holidays = FIFA 19)

Today volunteering at CAB, we had to phone the police on a client of mine. Apparently only the third time we've phoned the police in 20 years.

Had a 20 year-old boy bawling crying, threatening to smash an air conditioning unit, against the wall, showing me the scars on his neck from a suicide attempt, telling me about how his step-dad raped him and how he himself was falsely accused of raping some girl. Ultimately he said he was going to kill himself and we had to phone the police at that point.
