Moderator Tommy Posted May 21, 2017 Author Moderator Posted May 21, 2017 Just coming back from a wedding. First time I experienced a wedding in a Church, which was bewildering at times, but still an honour to be there for my friend. Party was fun as well. And first thing I did when I came home was booking Fortuna tickets for tomorrow! 95 OLE! Good night! Quote

That said, they do play good football. How do you feel about RB (a manufactured club albeit incredibly well run and doesn't rely on huge transfers) vs. a sugar-daddy but old club like Chelsea or ManCity vs. a club that has been run into the ground like Leeds or Parma? I have similar feelings about sugar-daddy clubs, not anywhere near to the same degree though. I don't personally like or support the concept (I'm old school and for me, football's too commercialised as it is already), but I don't really care either because those are not German clubs, and most importantly, because all other clubs in their league have equal playing ground - as in any club can sell themselves if they want to and manage to find someone willing to take over. Which is not the case in Germany due to the 50+1 rule as you probably know, so basically some clubs are just using loopholes and the fact that ultimately, DFL doesn't give a fuck, and thus they (i.e Hoffenheim, Leipzig) are gaining an unfair advantage over the rest who are at least trying to play according to the rules. As for the way RB Leipzig are run, they might not rely on big name transfers, but their transfer balance in the last 5 years is -110 million €, that's more than any other club including Bayern, and they were playing as low as the 4th tier during that time, always spending more (without selling!) than all other clubs added together (in their respective league at the time). 5 Quote
Panflute Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 What annoys me most about RB Leipzig is that it's called RB Leipzig. Even their name tastes of stale, corporate megalomania. But, as said, football in general is too far gone these days, so I can't bring myself to care. Quote

I guess I can see your point, averting the 'Red Bull' label but keeping the 'RB'. Quote

That's a good price, delivery costs would be exorbitant though Yes, tried it a few times when I was in Wuppertal. That was over 10 years ago though, so I don't know which one it was... Quote

Relling Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 I am the clear winner of the prediction league, the 1. Bundesliga fantasy league and the (small but very prestigious) 2. Bundesliga fantasy. Surely the rest of my life will be an anticlimax. I was not aware of the extent of the influence one of the estemed members of our comunity have had on behavioral psychology: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nudge_theory 2 Quote
nudge Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 You made it, Truls, such an incredible achievement that will surely go down in history books Quote
Faithcore Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Great! I wasn't so sure about the idea of letting you win in all competitions but obviously it did pay off. Once again the nudge theory was proven... 1 Quote
