Angela Merkel has suspended the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia after the torture and assassination of American journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Bravo Merkel, bravo Germany!

Over to you UK and of course the home nation of the victim. Now is where we will see if Mr Orange has balls like he pretends to have. Obviously Mrs May doesn’t have a pair but she surely could pretend.

As you said just before, politicians don't make decisions by ethics and morals. This is case and point for your argument, let's stop selling arms not because of what Khashoggi reported but because he was killed and people are talking about it. Everything is PR since at least the 90s.

The German government sanctioned half a billion €uros worth of arms sales to the Saudi's this year alone, even though we've know for a long time now what the Saudi's have been up to in the Yemen, possibly with these weapons.

If the UK government stops arms sales you know it will only be until everyone but the Guardian fall back asleep.

The only way to kill this PR generation is to have Merkel, Cameron and Obama before the Hague. That'll put the willies right up these sociopaths.

True but the power lies ultimately with the people. The same way over 700,000 marched into Central London yesterday calling on another opportunity to vote on Brexit, the same can be done for other things.

We as the people can bring down anything we like in days, we have the ultimate power and can make the decisions we like. We are just made to believe that we can’t!

Let’s take Amazon as one example of thousands just because they’ve been more in the news recently... If we all stop using Amazon for a month they will go under... There’s nothing else for it, that’s the power of the people in every walk of life where decisions are to be made. Demonstrations only go part of the way because we have the power for more, we actually have power to take action!

Is it just me that thinks that governments do this crazy assassination shit regularly? Not to say it should just be accepted but people's sudden outrage over this is slightly confusing. This in reality is a drop in the ocean of the fucked up things Saudi Arabia do. Countries should've stopped selling weapons to them long ago regardless of this situation. I don't know how countries like Saudi Arabia and Israel murdering and starving thousands with the weapons that were sold to them isn't a good enough reason to stop selling weapons to them but this situation is somehow too much...

Luxury cars crushed as transporter hits low bridge in Perth

A car transporter has crashed into a low bridge in Perth, causing tens of thousands of pounds of damage to luxury cars it was carrying.

The roofs of at least two new Range Rovers were crushed in the accident in Marshall Place at about 08:00.

Police were called to the scene as debris on the road caused rush-hour traffic problems.

Network Rail later tweeted to say the bridge had been inspected by engineers and was "passed fit for rail traffic".

Rumors going the rounds that the FBI purposely switched Whitey Bulger into a more violent prison to bump him off.

If there is one thing that inmates hate more than a nonce, it's a snitch. And he was by all acount an FBI Informant, in spite the cunt continuing to deny it.

Reported that he was beaten to death, and that his tongue was forcefully removed out.

Ryanair plane seized by French authorities in cash row

A Ryanair plane has been seized by French authorities in a row over money in the latest problem for the airline.

The French civil aviation authority grounded the Boeing 737 on Thursday at Bordeaux airport, before it was due to fly to Stansted with 149 passengers.

It said the move was "a last resort".

The dispute was caused by French subsidies paid to Ryanair for flights from Angoulême regional airport between 2008 and 2009, which the European Commission later deemed illegal.

The French civil aviation authority did not say how much money was involved, but regional airport officials said the sum was €525,000 (£457,000).

The authority said the plane "will remain immobilized until the sum is paid".

"It is unfortunate that the state had to take such action, which led to the inevitable inconvenience of the 149 passengers on board the immobilised plane," the French civil aviation authority said.

"Those passengers were able to eventually reach their destination later that evening on another Ryanair plane, but with a five-hour delay."

It is the latest in a series of setbacks for Ryanair, which has recently faced a series of strikes by pilots and cabin crew across Europe.

But despite flight cancellations, Ryanair reported an 11% rise in traffic in October, as it carried 13.1 million passengers.

The stoppages contributed to a 7% fall in profits to €1.2bn (£1.06bn) for the six months to 30 September.

Terror attack in Melbourne. A known Somalian bloke murdered and injured a few others with a knife and there was a car explosion. The dude was smoked by police after a scuffle, though unlike Americans the officers shot him once and only after using other means to apprehend him.

Woooohooo, more failed multicultural integration. Just change the laws so only Indians, Chinese, and Japanese people are allowed in Australia. xD

Urgent background checks are ordered on 3,000 doctors after a woman, 56, is found to have used her fake degree to work for the NHS as a psychiatrist for 22 years

Liz Hull and Chris Brooke for the Daily Mail      6 hrs ago

The backgrounds of 3,000 foreign doctors are being urgently checked after a conwoman with no qualifications was allowed to work as an NHS psychiatrist for 22 years.

Zholia Alemi, 56, claimed to have a degree from the University of Auckland in New Zealand when she came to work in the UK in 1992.

In reality, the convicted fraudster had flunked her first year and dropped out. But nobody at the General Medical Council, the watchdog responsible for vetting the background of medics, checked whether her documentation was genuine.

Paul Gascoigne charged with sex assault on Durham train

Football legend Paul Gascoigne has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman on a train from York to Durham.

The former England midfielder was arrested at Durham station on 20 August.

British Transport Police said the 51-year-old has now been charged with one count of sexual assault by touching and will appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on 11 December.

Gazza shot to international fame during the 1990 World Cup.

After leaving his hometown club Newcastle United in 1988, he enjoyed success at Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio, and Rangers.

He has had a well-documented struggle with alcoholism in the past.

A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said Mr. Gascoigne, of Leicester, was "charged via postal requisition with one count of sexual assault by touching, contrary to Section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003."

"The charge relates to an incident on board a train on 20 August this year," she added.
