Results - Gameweek Three

Casualties (6)

@DeadLinesman kicks off the fatalities this gameweek as he found himself pre-occupied with warding off potential new forum members and therefore too busy to make a pick. Friday night's 1-1 draw between Real Sociedad and Levante bring @CaaC - John's first Last Man Standing appearance to an end, a respectable performance but Sociedad were unable to extend his run. Fast forward to Sunday lunchtime and Eibar found themselves wiped off several Christmas card lists, in one of the biggest shithouse mass murders we've seen all season, @Rucksackfranzose, @...Dan and @Stan watching on in horror as their pick conceded twice in stoppage time to go down 2-1 at home to Valladolid. Finally, @StefBWFC is felled by Valencia's failure to break down Getafe in their 0-0 draw on Sunday evening.

Commiserations, folks. That's a couple of points to add to your overall tallies. Look out for the final round of the season, brought to you by Ligue 1, provided the La Liga edition doesn't take us to the end of the season.

Survivors (6)

Just half a dozen left in the game now. @binder was the first to take the leap of faith into Gameweek Four, thanks to a pair of goals in the last 10 minutes for Alaves in their 3-1 win at Huesca. Zizou's return to the Bernabeu carried the hopes of @RandoEFC, @The Palace Fan and @Bluewolf along with it, and after a goalless first half, Real Madrid overcame Celta Vigo to bring them all relief. Significantly, @Viva la FCB now has enough points in this round to overturn @Lucas at the top of the league table, and still has the chance to rack up more points after Villarreal carried him and @Eco past a third obstacle in this round. After winning last summer's World Cup edition of Last Man Standing, Viva is hitting form at the perfect moment as the league season reaches the finishing straight.

Congratulations to the six survivors. You now have three points on the board for this round with a good chance of picking up some bonus points too. Please read ahead for Gameweek Four's fixture list.

Preview - Gameweek Four

With the international break obstructing our competition for the next week and a half, please make your pick for Gameweek Four at your leisure. Fixtures begin on Friday 29th March. Here are your odds:

Girona (3.00) vs Athletic Club (2.62)

Getafe (1.90) vs Leganes (4.33)

Barcelona (1.16) vs Espanyol (13.00)

Celta Vigo (2.70) vs Villarreal (2.62)

Deportivo Alaves (5.25) vs Atletico Madrid (1.72)

Levante (2.90) vs Eibar (2.30)

Rayo Vallecano (2.62) vs Real Betis (2.62)

Sevilla (2.10) vs Valencia (3.20)

Real Valladolid (2.60) vs Real Sociedad (3.00)

Real Madrid (1.12) vs SD Huesca (15.00)

Remember not to make any duplicate picks! It's a tricky week for those like me who have already used up their Real Madrid and Barcelona options. My pick for Gameweek Four is Atletico Madrid. Good luck folks.

Results - Gameweek Four

Casualties (1)

Despite a number of serious scares this week, @The Palace Fan is the sole casualty this week as his pick Getafe fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Leganes at home. Bad luck mate, you are out of this round of the Last Man Standing league and have scored 3 points this round.

Survivors (5)

The only comfortable progress made this week was by @RandoEFC, who backed Atletico Madrid in their 4-0 success at Alaves. There were slight scares for @binder and @Bluewolf, who backed Barcelona to beat Espanyol, and the defending champions laboured before Messi took the game by the scruff of the neck to secure a 2-0 win for his side and progress for these two competitors. Meanwhile, it took a 89th minute decider from Karim Benzema on Sunday night to see Real Madrid past Huesca at the Bernabeu, @Eco and @Viva la FCB heaving a sigh of relief.

The five of you have made it into Gameweek Five - well done! That's four points on the board and counting, with a good chance of bonus points to come too.

Preview - Gameweek Five

This is very important folks - Gameweek Five commences on Tuesday this week (the day after tomorrow), so make sure you get your picks in as soon as possible. Remember not to choose a team you've used already!

Atletico Madrid (1.36) vs Girona (8.50)

Espanyol (2.30) vs Getafe (3.25)

Villarreal (5.25) vs Barcelona (1.57)

Athletic Club (1.61) vs Levante (5.75)

SD Huesca (2.50) vs Celta Vigo (2.70)

Eibar (1.61) vs Rayo Vallecano (5.25)

Valencia (3.60) vs Real Madrid (1.90)

Sevilla (1.45) vs Deportivo Alaves (6.00)

Leganes (1.90) vs Real Valladolid (4.00)

Real Sociedad (2.20) vs Real Betis (3.40)

With all of the big three now used up from my point of view, my pick for this gameweek is Sevilla. Good luck everyone.
