IgnisExcubitor
Fernando Torres has announced his retirment. For me he was special and one of my favourites. An absolute joy to watch. I also believe he was the best striker in the world for at least two years under Rafa. Has had a splendid career on club and International level. SirBalon
Indeed, he had that spell where he was unstoppable. Even before he went to Liverpool he was showing what he was capable of at Atlético Madrid and at such a young age. There were moments when he recieved the ball you were terrified being a fan of the opposition. He also had a knack throughout his career rught till the end of scoring against Barcelona no matter if he was playing well or not. One of the big football names of the past 20 years for sure. Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted June 21, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted June 21, 2019 One of the best I have ever seen running straight at defenders. His little tussles with Vidic always made me smile as well. Its sad what happened to him after his move from us but he got his prowess back at Atletico to a certain extent. Absolute bargain considering he was a very good striker for Atletico at the time. 'Peak' Torres gets near to or even over £100m in this market, for sure. He was world class for Liverpool. Feared by pretty much anyone in the league. Vidic especially.

Eco
One of my favorite players while at both Atletico and Liverpool. Was soooo much fun to play with on Fifa as he just absolutely destroyed the game. Hate that he finished in Japan where most of his fans didn't get to finish watching his career, but regardless, what a fantastic player.

Cicero
Torres tormented Puyol more than Vidic. No doubt he was happy he left Spain.

Honey Honey
This thread reads like a memorial. No one's mentioned that he turned absolute shite. I will remember him for that class player who collapsed.

Harry
In those Liverpool years you could just see a player absolutely loving his football. He could literally do no wrong. My favourite Liverpool striker to have watched since Owen.
