Honey Honey Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I can't remember if he bet on a game he played in or not? If he did then fully deserved. If not then it's a bit excessive. He should have done what Michael Chopra did and fled to India.

Inverted Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 There's was some chat about whether the City-QPR match was one of them, but the FA listed the 30 "most spurious" or something and it wasn't there, so I think not. Imagine the shitstorm if he had bet on that one.
Administrator Stan Posted April 26, 2017 Administrator Posted April 26, 2017 surely he must have bet on himself to get sent off or booked? easy money.
Administrator Stan Posted April 26, 2017 Administrator Posted April 26, 2017 Apparently he bet £600 on Man City to beat Fulham (a match he was involved in) and lost
Honey Honey Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 The TF Twitter account should tweet Barton asking him if the odds on him going into management are worth a punt
Administrator Stan Posted April 26, 2017 Administrator Posted April 26, 2017 what Joey Barton bet on: He's not very good either
The Liquidator Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Wow, Footballers betting on Football matches..... Who would have thought that? Gone have the days when Wimbledon would bet on one of their players who hadnt scored, or crossed the half way line for 2 seasons, to score in the next game and they would all become Tom Daly in the penalty area for the 90 mins. Or stand two guys out wide when kicking off and betting on the time of the first throw in. Big Fash would fire the ball out wide from the kick off to the two players who would look to the heavens as the ball sailed over their heads. You should read what Brian Clough said about the guys playing in Middlesbroughs defense back in the day he was banging them in at the other end. Barton is being made an example off because of who he is and will probably appeal n the ban will be halved.
Honey Honey Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 What games did he bet on that he actually played in? It just looks like he was willing his own team to lose while he was suspended/injured
HK85 Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Poor Tony Kay was threw in prison for a few weeks and banned from football for life for betting on his team.
The Artful Dodger Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Good, couldn't care less about him betting but just sick of the boring twat being in the news.
UNORTHODOX Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 He lost £800 betting on United & Chelsea to beat Newcastle, Bet he was fuming.
Honey Honey Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I'd love to see that game where he bet on himself to score first. I can just imagine fans being livid that he kept taking pot shots from 30 yards.

Honey Honey Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Ban reduced after Barton pointed out how bad he was at betting
ficklered Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 His ineptitude in relation to betting is no reason to let the idiot have chance to play again. He's had more warnings and suspensions for behaviour related issues than any normal, well balanced thug. I just don't get why the FA haven't just told him to fuck off to China for his football and to never darken our doors again. He's a liability, a tool and unwanted in the footballing world.

Don't think China is an easy escape anymore because their spending is being curbed now. That said though it is weird that hes gotten away with all that he has and now this joke is in a long line of bad behavior that hasn't properly been sorted out.
