You are young, stick in there as Education is very important nowadays, I remember arriving in Australia when I was young and just could not hack school once I went to High School, when I was just 14 my mother dragged me into the bathroom to get ready for school as I was refusing to go but I climbed out of the bathroom window and just run away from home for about 2 days until the police eventually found me. I was still a problem not going to school so my mum & dad just gave up trying and I started work when I was 14 and as the years rolled on I regretted not getting a proper education as a lot of good jobs then you needed school certificates, that's why I joined the army and as I could type I became a regimental clerk and gained certificates, when I left the army I found it easy to get a job and over the years I had worked myself up to become a building manager which I had for years until I retired 5 years ago. I was lucky when I married Liz as she did have a good education and when we had our two kids we made sure they got their education which they did and ended up at college, so never give up on your education and try and get as many certificates as you can. When I was 41 and got made redundant from a job I registered for a college course compliments of the DHSS and gained myself a small diploma which to this day is sitting in my CV folder in the bedroom closet, our son & daughter were ready to go to college then and I showed them the certificate to spur them on and said "See...your old man has got a Dip before you two..." they both went to college and got about 5 certificates each. Where there is a will there is a way.2 points

I think all those on the Brexit camp who dress up in Union Jacks and those Remainers who dress up like the EU flag should all just fight on the street until to the death. Last person standing determines the UK's fate as an EU member. If it's a dumb cunt dressed up like the EU flag, we remain. If it's a dumb cunt dressed up like the UK flag, we stay. We can probably get this all organised before the October 31 deadline. And it's guaranteed to be a less stupid idea than anything Boris Johnson's government puts out.1 point

You're living in a dream world. Every protest or complaint at the time was "spend some money". Even when we bought Ozil, our net spend in total that season was £35m. That's not a lot. And only then did spending a decent amount actually begin. To suggest that there wasn't a period where we had to restrict ourselves when it came to spending is insane. It's well documented. People have gone from saying "Wenger is the one choosing not to spend money and he treats it like it's his own money" to now saying "nah, he actually did spend a lot of money and should've won the title even though the numbers don't back that up at all". Changing the narrative to something that's more convenient for 2019 won't play with me. Say no to revisionism.1 point

I tell you what when someone sent me this I was like she has a nice voice, good bass, great little riff and then she starts singing in a totally different tone and my eyes widened. @Dr. Gonzo you'll thoroughly enjoy this.1 point

A lot of bullshit as usual when talking about the 2nd half of Wenger's reign. For none of that second half were we even expected to finish in the top 4 let alone win trophies. It also included a period where we had to sell our best players and spend very little to replace them. People talk about Pochettino doing a good job last season by not signing anyone but that was a much easier task as they didn't lose key players. Wenger deserves a lot of credit for keeping us in the Champions League in that period. Only time we started spending money again was with Ozil and even then it wasn't close to the teams competing for the title. Only real failure of a season when looking at the circumstances was his final season and even then that was a season we basically wrote off after his departure was announced.1 point

The club is run differently know as it has a structure put in place, this was done because of Wenger leaving as he didn't want this type of structure while he was at the club. Wenger had to leave plus he is old now and out of ideas of the modern game. Emery it just far too cautious as a coach now which is kind of killing our attacking play.1 point

I'd still take Wenger over Emery even now. Just my personal preference obviously.1 point

Yeah, thats why he stayed too long, if he would of quit after the unbeaten run he would of been worshiped as a pure legend but the thing is, the team he had but failed in Europe is one of his biggest downfalls, he never had the tactics to win a 2 legged cup.1 point

Arsenal are in a bracket where they could have done better this decade for sure, had they been more adventurous in the transfer market or Wenger left earlier. ANd I'm sure a lot of you guys are thinking what if. What if Fabregas wasn't a dumb cunt, what if Van Persie stayed, what if Wenger moved on in 2014. What if Ozil gave 100% every time. But at the beginning of the decade Arsenal were in a similar position to now. Scrapping for top 4. You haven't changed. City and Liverpool have risen, United and Chelsea have dropped off. Things could be better for the Arsenal, but they could be far worse.1 point

I watched the Martian the other night and was searching for the song and found this... Also found out that when he produced this song they initially took it down for copyright reasons but Bowie loved it so much he told them to put it back up apparently.... Class He has been a Fighter Pilot as well I believe.. What a life!!1 point

I agree that education is important but it also depends on what you're studying. A lot of degrees nowadays are essentially useless - either because of the subject matter (shite like "gender studies") or lack of a viable job market now or in the near future so it turns out to be a waste of time and money.1 point

I reckon Chelsea are in a decent place right now. Four or five decent youngsters floating around the first team, a manager who knows the club inside out, a transfer ban to stop Abramovich spunking money on journeymen to block the paths of young players into the first team. I'd be pretty made up if I was a Chelsea fan right now. They're probably going to be fighting for fourth with United, Arsenal and maybe Spurs if they have a below par season but long term things are looking rosy I'd say1 point

This post alone is enough to tell that psychologically and intellectually, England as a nation is fucked beyond rescue. Because a large amount of money, time, and analysis has went into this, and this is obviously what has been objectively determined to appeal most effectively to people.0 points
