Daily increase in new cases falls again though; that's the most important stat in terms of containing the virus as it starts to look like a trend now. The number of deaths is sad but it's not a good indicator on how the virus is spreading day by day.4 points

I've heard from people I know that live in Iran that what we've heard about how bad it is in Iran (and it's bad there, by all accounts) is just a fraction of how bad it really is there. Governments that need to project power for their propaganda necessary to maintaining harsh authoritarian rule over their people are exactly the sort you can't trust to be honest about how bad things ever are under their watch. And China and Iran both fall into those types of countries.1 point

I can with certainty say they are withholding correct numbers. A chinese fellow I work with was saying through private news feeds and family he has that live there its much much worse then they where releasing. Which is hardly surprising to noone. Kind of reminds me of Chernobyl; having just watched it and it all still being fresh. Just the shit these communists try to keep under wraps is mind boggling, and all for the wrong reasons.1 point

I understood exactly what Nudge was saying, I was just pointing out the fact that the number of people being affected by all of this in Italy is still very alarming. I personally find all of this very sad, there are large numbers of people dying prematurely because of this nasty virus. My heart really goes out to all those affected by this ongoing tragedy.1 point

Yes, you are right Nudge, but the number of people dying in Italy is still shocking. The total dead in Italy because of Coronavirus now reads 6,820 people dead in total(That total is in the last month or so!)! That's more than double the total number of deaths in China because of Coronavirus and China have the most deaths after Italy. I really feel sorry for the Italians and what they are going through, so many families have sadly lost loved ones.1 point

Heard that call that's going around social media about a 75 year old not giving a fuck about spreading it, saying they've had their team and would go to the beach even if it meant they died. She seemed to totally gloss over the fact that she could also pass it on to people and didn't like that people were staying at home, saying they're frightened. Ignorant bitch! Hope she pops it because those kind of people just aren't useful in times like this. Stubborn indeed!1 point

I have no problem with this to be fair. It doesn't exactly scream competence but at least he's willing to admit he made a slight mistake.1 point

But remember, it's all the government's fault that the thick fucking cunts are not listening.1 point

Apparently banking services over the phone are "key" so I'm still in work tomorrow. I would disagree since many major banks operate without telephone banking, but hey.1 point

Yep. Everyone followed voluntary curfew impeccably on Sunday. Today was horrendous. Some of it is understandable. Daily wage labourers who live on the borders of big cities coming in for work. But the behaviour from educated or privileged ones is infuriating. All throughout the day, state after state imposed stricter laws. Now most states are under forced lockdown and cops have been given power to deal with idiots who step out of their homes unnecessarily. People are not going to change until they actually witness their loved ones suffering. And by that time, it will too late. We have jumped from 396 to 499 positive cases in a day. We are well on our way to getting screwed. @topic Meanwhile, one patient in South India who returned from Middle East was told to remain in quarantine. Instead he went to two weddings, a funeral and a football match. He is directly responsible for at least 6 more positive cases (a number which could rise above 50 cause 100+ people who came in contact with him are now qurantined).0 points
