You never want to live in a country where the state has the power to decide who lives and dies. Whatever you think of these people.4 points

Ter Stegen, De Jong, Pedri, Fati, Dest, Araújo, Puig...keep these, build on it with young players and within a few years there will be a competitive team again, that can win leagues and give a good showing in the Champions. Maybe not a dominant side like the one containing Messi, Alves, Puyol, Xavi and Iniesta, but that team was a once in a lifetime, you'll never get another Barcelona team like that again in our time I don't think. Dembélé is looking fitter and stronger all the time himself. If he stays away from injury (which seems to be the case now) then he can be one of the stand out names in Europe in the coming years. This is actually a better group of players than given credit for, but they are still young and learning. The more they play together, the better they develop. The defence has been the biggest issue, with many silly mistakes that cost games, although that can even improve with the personnel currently at the club as they are young lads who are still learning. I also rate Eric García, he hasn't been given the chance for City but looked assuring for his age for Spain when I saw him and he'll fit in better back at home. The midfield isn't short of talent and the attack is only really a striker away from being an exciting front line. I wouldn't rule Messi out in staying either as it's not just about him, but his family, who don't want to leave Barcelona. It's all about who comes in as president and the progression shown before the end of the season. Atlético are too far ahead to be caught now, after another convincing victory last night in the 3-1 against Valencia and the Champions league will be a big ask with such a young and new team. But a win in the Copa del Rey is possible and would help the development of this team and show promise. Then again, in terms of Messi, the problem could be paying him and it may be more beneficial for the future for him to leave unfortunately. The problem is, he'll go to PSG to be with his bum boy Neymar, likely with Sergio Ramos following him if reports are to be believed. That'd be quite sad as they are a horrible club and It'd be better to see him at Bayern(I don't think the Prem would be a wise move at this stage of his career), but Bayern don't tend to buy old players, even ones of that quality. Saying that, Messi, Neymar and Mbappe with Ramos would be an exciting side at the same time. De Jong is also showing alot of maturity now. He bossed the game yesterday. As for the debts, it's a huge worry but there could be way to solve the issue as you mentioned. What will definitely change is the big money signings going in, although It could work out as a blessing as the transfer policy of buying anyone with talent didn't work, a proper rebuild of youngsters was needed. A team with an identity who develop playing together, gathering an understanding. It's a shame the club couldn't buy a player like Haaland or Mbappe, along with an experienced defender though, as they alone would make a big difference.1 point

I could totally see that. Reversing the adjustment would feel super super weird. Its hard to explain best I can for anyone that doesnt run a 144+ is everything runs cleaner and feels so much smoother. You kind of have to experience it to understand.1 point

Once you go beyond 60 its really hard to come back down because it jitters for me haha. I run a 240 and it took me a while to get used to it.1 point

I agree. It will be interesting to see what will happen when Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. They´ve dominated the sport for so long. I don´t think there´s anyone capable of filling the gap both will leave.1 point

They did the same with John Carver. It ended up going down to the last game of the season with Gutierrez keeping us up. It doesn't surprise me one bit the club hierarchy are league table pundits. It's the same level of insight you get from the likes of Jamie Redknapp and Mark Lawrenson.1 point

I know people sack managers far too quickly these days, and my own club have benefitted from sticking with a manager in a rut. But I’m not sure what it is people see in Lampard that means he’ll be a long term manager at Chelsea? He pulled up no trees at Derby, got the job through his name much like he did at Chelsea. Made very consistent defensive errors last season that still aren’t fixed, errors that a certain Chelsea fan on here *cough cough* @The Liquidator *cough cough* would have had a copy and paste fit over if it was Sarri. Took Chelsea to a 4th place finish, OK, he met the minimum standard of a Chelsea manager in a season where Spurs and Arsenal both sacked their managers, with the squad he had at his disposal Chelsea should have finished above Leicester, Wolves etc as they did. Chelsea brought in £200m+ worth of players, the minimum expectation from this haul is a title challenge as it should be when you make such a large amount of high profile signings and they are currently 11 points off the league leaders and maybe 12 if City win their game in hand. Chelsea have just lost to Leicester, City, Arsenal (performance-wise, very, very badly) and drew with Villa. Their win against West Ham was not a performance that warranted the score line, they lost to Wolves and Everton prior to that too. If Spurs and Everton win their games in hand Chelsea will also be 7 points off 5th and 9 points off of 4th. But the underlying fact is that Lampard’s team has progressively got worse when it should have got better. There is nothing to look at under Lampard’s reign that suggests things could be very good. No Bundesliga wins, no German Cup wins, no Champions League finalists, no consistently improved seasons and performances, literally nothing. Chelsea did go 17 games unbeaten as was stated, 6 draws and they picked wins up against Sevilla (good), Rennes (OK), Spurs (1-1 in normal time, went to pens), Newcastle, Sheffield Utd, Burnley, Krasnodar, Palace and the mighty Barnsley. Hardly a record to look back on and think “yeah, we were definitely title contenders”...alongside West Ham. Chelsea should never have hired him in the first place, massive mistake that has set them back. I don’t know a lot about Tuchel individually other than both Dortmund and PSG wanted rid of him, not sure he’s the best replacement but ze Germans will know better.1 point

Firstly, you don't know this. Secondly, even if it's true, being in prison for the rest of his life is a greater punishment than being put out of his misery.1 point

Has a lot to do with the manufacturer, including Oxford-AstraZenica, not providing enough vaccine at the agreed time. Has much more to do with empty promises towards European governments and the EU from pharmaceutical industry than with the NHS being so efficient.1 point

For entertainment I think all the top 5 leagues are still, including the French league, which is often underlooked. La Liga has been very entertaining this season itself. But my worry Ricardo is that whenever a player shines now, they are likely to move to the same league and it has made football quite tedious in this regard. The entertainment is there, but quality is lacking compared to the past in many leagues. With this said, do you not think football in general is going through a "transition period"? I think the sport is currently lacking the big stars we are used to witnessing. The plus side is that I can't remember the last time there were so many quality teenagers, so it'll only be temporary. Anyway, I hope AC Milan win it, I've always preferred them over the likes of Juve and Inter. Fiorentina was always my favourite Italian team but AC are the one I've always had admiration for. I was actually thinking of starting to watch more South American football again as I've enjoyed the Copa Libertadores.1 point

Because we're not a bunch of pricks? Most Aussie fans who make the noise are people that think they're ultras, dress like it's England in the 80s and horrifically sing European style songs. Drums, megaphones the lot. The quality of the game is difficult to watch as a neutral, I went to see Sydney FC against Melbourne City last season (with Simon) and it was low Championship/League 1 level.1 point

One of our team tested positive today and normally when that has happened in other departments they have sent everyone in that bubble home to self isolate for 10 days... Not us though0 points
