Seen quite a lot of people reveling in the prospect of Chelsea folding as a club or something equally drastic. Fair enough if you want to revel in the downfall of Abramovich or those at the club who actually have a say and have done very well out of his ownership, but the wanton laughter at the fans is a bit much for me, they didn't sell the club to him in the first place and you'd be genuinely gutted if it happened to your club. Don't bother replying with the "plastics" shouts or trying to claim that the fans who sung his name during the silence the other day represent all Chelsea fans either. It just makes you a total bore. People didn't laugh at Bury or Wimbledon fans when their clubs went under. Regardless of Abramovich or the fact that Chelsea have ridden higher than those clubs for a long time, genuine fans hold their football club as a sincere part of their life and in that respect, Chelsea are no different. Maybe I've just gone soft but it seems to have strayed from banter to real nastiness in some quarters (not here from what I've seen).2 points

On the one hand I think this is funny. On the other hand we’ve got a club literally owned by Saudi Arabia’s public investment fund that’s been waging a genocidal campaign for years in Yemen and they were allowed to buy a club this year - and we’re seeing their fans a bit giddy about this… and that rubs me the wrong way.2 points

When it comes to countries that people know a lot about, everything is kept separate. When it comes to countries people don't know a lot about, everything is connected.1 point

I had a scout on a few forums yesterday out of interest and the fur was flying so to speak, One I remember was along the lines of the Glasers as a US company were responsible for the deaths from the wars in the Middle East. Leave off, one answered, the Glasers are not responsible for the US govt they are not murderers, yet they have murdered Machester Utd .......1 point

Find out your caloric intake. Aim to hit 300-500 calories below that for fat loss, whilst keeping your protein high for muscle building. (0.8 grams of protein per KG of body weight). Start weighing yourself every day for progress, and because your weight fluctuates throughout the week, find the average weight of that week. Then subtract that weeks average weight to the following week's average weight. You'll get an idea of how much true fat you are losing. (Have a cheat meal once every other week) Find a weight lifting program that works for you, with the mindset of having your next workout better than the previous (IE using more weight or more reps). Then, its just consistency.1 point

The UK government will only allow the sale through a special license that shows the transaction won't go into Roman's pocket.1 point

Exercise is merely 30% of it. Your diet is 70%. What are your goals exactly? Fat loss or lowering your body fat whilst gaining muscle?1 point

it's a witch hunt which borders on illegality. i find myself amused at the West that panders ideals like democracy and liberty but the government's long arm it. from trudaeu censoring and shutting down people using their right to protest invasion of liberty, then seizing assets. Joe and Hunter Biden's corrupt dealings with Ukraine and China and the cover up and how censoring political opposition is the new modus operandi. I am not sure the Western leaders really care about us, but let me have two scoops of Roman is bad because he did energy deals in Russia a long time ago, with a dash of moral cleansing tonic1 point

I mean there've been sanctions on Russia since they invaded Crimea, perhaps the West should have taken a harsher stance in 2014 to make Russia think twice about further invasions rather than placating them to let them feel they could continue their expansion in Europe with nobody giving a shit.1 point

Well I understand why the BBC doesn't - it's because the UK government is very complicit in what's happening in Yemen. And it's not just the bombing of civilian infrastructure they probably don't want to talk about - but the fact that we're aiding in a war where the coalition we are on the side of is using famine and disease as weapons of war. It's a disgusting conflict, regardless of what anyone thinks about the Houthis (and I think they're absolute scum, but just because they are absolute scum it doesn't justify what's happening to people in Yemen generally)... and I think it'd be unsettling to a lot of people in the West if more knew that's part of what their taxes pay for. But I think sportwashing does work - otherwise these regimes wouldn't try to do it. Would Qatar be hosting a world cup if they hadn't spent billions in football trying to improve their image as a footballing nation? Would Russia have a state sponsored olympic doping program if they didn't see the value in having shitloads of olympic medalists? Would Chelsea fans chant the name of a Russian oligarch that made his billions in Russia's kleptocracy during that minutes applause for solidarity country invaded by Russia? I definitely think sporting glory helps people look the other way when thinking about what certain governments have done/are doing and that's why shady regimes do it. Because at the end of the day, being ambitious with a sporting side is not going to give many people a great return on investment unless you are content with picking up PL TV money and not having any ambition... at which point fans get pissed off and attendances go down and that's not good for the league and it's TV ratings.1 point

The Ukrainian FA to strip Tymoschuk of all his caps for Ukraine and all his trophies he won in Ukraine for not speaking out against the war while also being a part of Zenit's staff. Just me that thinks that it's a bit messed up to strip someone of their sporting accolades because they're not politically outspoken in your favour? Going after Russians that have nothing to do with the war was already bad enough in my opinion and starting a witch hunt against Ukrainians that aren't politically vocal is another example of the symbolic, PR side of this war just being poorly thought out.1 point

Definitely. Shelley really grew as a performer beyond the flips and spots into an outstanding well rounded wrestler as he got old. Shame a pair of fat, soccer mum looking motherfuckers didn't follow suit.1 point

Almost any time I hear about Lebanon in the news it just sounds like ordinary people get absolutely fucked by shit out of their control. Brutally sad, tbh. Shame too, every Lebanese person I've ever met has been nice as fuck.1 point
