  9. I've watched parts of three episodes and here's what has happened... A girl whose name sounds like Eggy Sue randomly exaggerated a story about Michael Owen's daughter to cause friction. A couple went on a date and spoke the whole time talking about how they've fallen for each other. The couple that went on the date have now coupled up with new people and are angry at each other for doing so. Yet as bollocks as that sounds I can see why people enjoy this TV. I caught a bit of Temptation Island on TV once and there was something disturbingly satisfying about seeing this obnoxious bloke who was trying to get with other women watch on a TV monitor his wife get off with another man. The producers must have so much fun with this car crash TV deciding when and how to drop these bombs that make great TV.

  12. The opposite, they need a leader who can unify people by restoring the traditional/cultural value of Americanism. Someone who refuses to politic by pigeonholing people but refers to Americans as a entire collective under one government based on the truest values of Constitutional democracy. But it is academic as I think the decline is well down that slippery slop.

  13. He's a very good player. Like @Spike said though, I'd probably expect those numbers to drop off a bit since he's not going to be at Pep's City anymore and I do think their tactics play a big part in chance creation and goals compared to many other teams. Having said that, not that Tuchel plays a super negative brand of football - I just wouldn't expect the numbers to be quite as good. I think he'll end up being a pretty successful signing for Chelsea. Like I said, he's a good player. I think he's somewhat underrated by a lot of people, but he's definitely got quality even though he's also a little shit.

  14. Johnson nailed himself. And that's the only way it was ever going to end. You could sense back when "PartyGate" started that it was the beginning of the end though. He may arguably have fronted that out, although he still hadn't quite got away from the lying in Parliament bit, but he burned through so much political capital that he was never going to be able to shrug off his fortnightly scandals again and again and go and win another election. Gove has already ruled himself out of running for leader as have Raab and Hancock. Suella Braverman's leadership campaign ought to be quite a hysterical spectacle though. We'll see a lot of people get very excited by a leadership contest but aside from watching the most laughable of Tories who you wouldn't trust to run a bath make a case to run the country, it shouldn't really be enjoyed for its drama. Even terms like "runners and riders" being casually thrown about makes me feel a bit sick because it shows that the commentariat and political class will continue to treat politics like some big game when we need a government and politicians who are actually focused on the betterment of the country and its people, which shouldn't even really need saying out loud. Of course, whoever takes over will be an improvement on Johnson and his removal should be welcomed but they won't be "good". The best we can hope for is that someone who's actually focused on policy instead of the whole woke/culture war scaremongering brand of campaigning so that the next election can be fought on actual policy and governance instead of childish rhetoric and scare tactics.

  15. Maybe 10-15 years ago? But at this point, we're talking about a player who even if they get relegated looked like a player that would at least be comfortable at a top championship side that expects to fight for promotion. And if they go down and he looks good and other premier league clubs want to buy him, he's young and he's got quality and that means high resale value to demand a decent fee. I think it's weird he's gone for more than Minamino, but I think this is a bit different to Ibe and Solanke, because while he's a bit naive defensively I think he's done enough in his time with us and on loan at Fulham to show he's worth at least £10m in today's market. Especially as a player that counts as homegrown. Good luck to him though, as a RB who can also play at RW he came through at a difficult time because he's never going to displace Trent or Mo when they're fit.

  23. It would be very bold to think you were ready to challenge for the Premier League when you have only broken 80pts once in it's entirety. These days you need 90+ points to win it, so I think this season you need to look at breaking that 80pt barrier again and take that as a positive stride. That would also guarantee Champions League football again. That and winning any cup should be seen as an extremely succesful season IMO and positive progress. The marquee signings will come when you build up more of a solid reputation and credit in Europe.

  24. Think that's a bit ambitious. Conte is good but I doubt he can better Pep and Klopp given how far along they are now at their clubs. Top 4 and a cup should be Spurs' goal this season.

  26. It doesn't look that way to me because we have played a lot of games without them 2 players and been more than fine. lets take Haaland & Alvarez out for a minute and even without them we have a team that can and has won the title, nothing really changes without them, we lost better players in Aguero, Silva, Yaya etc and never missed them too because of the amount of quality we have in the squad ..so leaving them 4 players out we have this and still looking for more players to buy to boost the bench a bit Ederson Walker - Dias - Laporte - Cancelo De Bruyne - Rodrigo - Gundogan Mahrez - Foden - Bernardo BENCH:- Ortega, Stones, Ake, Zinc, Phillips, Greelish, Palmer, Delap, McAtee, Edozie, Doyle, Mbete, Full strength as it stands including Haaland/Alvarez Ederson Walker - Dias - Laporte - Cancelo De Bruyne - Rodrigo - Bernardo Alvarez - Haaland - Foden BENCH:- Ortega, Stones, Ake, Zinc, Phillips, Greelish, Gundogan, Mahrez, Palmer, Delap, McAtee, Doyle, Mbete,

  29. Starmer pledging to block a referendum for Scottish Independence. I do feel for the Scotland in that one of the key elements of the last referendum was that we'd still be in the EU, can see why they'd want to do it again especially after this mess. With that said I don't trust Sturgeon one bit and once the opposition of Westminster is taken out of the equation in Scottish politics I don't think Scotland as a country will drastically improve in the way pro-independence politicians make out that it will. Scotland is a mostly Liberal country yes, but given time they will have their own conservative style governments come in and that will change the political landscape there drastically. Especially considering over 50% of Scots wanted to stay in the Union last time, as we've seen with Brexit it doesn't take long for people to change their mind after drastic change.

  30. Foden has taken Sterling's place with Greelish as back up, Alvarez and Haaland replace Jesus, Alvarez can play anywhere in the front 3, same as Foden with Mahrez and Bernardo also covering the wide positions too ..dont get why people are saying eggs in one basket when we are more than covered for Sterling & Jesus leaving and still looking to bring more players in too

  32. Kyrgios is due to face some sort of domestic assault charge when he returns to Australia. Another reason not to buy into the "oh he's such a maverick, McEnroe come again, people just don't like him because he's confident and Wimbledon people are just being snooty and he's *Box Office*" stuff. He's a tit.

  33. Nadhim Zahawi, just 36 hours after being appointed Chancellor by Boris Johnson, has now publicly called for him to step down despite not resigning himself. Michelle Donelan, whoever she is, who replaced Zahawi as Education Secretary 36 hours ago has actually resigned. The Education Secretary thing hits me because that's my sector but it will be the same for workers across many other areas. Seeing these offices reduced to transfer deadline day political footballs (they're close enough to that in the first place) like this really shouldn't be allowed to happen. Education could do with some actual governance. I read something the other day Donelan is the 8th Education Secretary in 5 years or something and she's now gone after less than 2 days and there are no junior ministers left in the department. We basically have no government right now simply because Boris Johnson is being a spoiled man baby and refusing to go to bed when Nanny tells him. In a way, it's almost better the longer he drags this on because people might realise that no matter how "funny" or "something different" these posh boys from Eton manage to come across, at their core, they've been given the same upbringing that produces the same entitled man babies who see politics as just another game of how much they can use their privilege and education to see what they can get away with, and enter politics because they were "born to rule". At least with the state-school educated politicians, there's a chance they come into that career with the best of intentions before realising that "playing the game" is the only way to achieve anything meaningful and becoming corrupted. All these pearl-clutching Tories right now shouldn't expect to get a fair hearing after this either. Enough people told the world what Boris Johnson was in 2019 and some have been doing so for many years before that. They've all served under his leadership, voted for his policies, publicly defended him for the last 3 years. Anyone who has held the Conservative whip in that time is culpable for propping him up this long. Now they're upset that he won't fuck off when they want him too. And they only want him to because he's become harmful to their career and their potential to keep their jobs at the next election. Cry me a fucking river. Johnson is about a month short of Theresa May in terms of how long he's served as Prime Minister. It would be absolutely sweet as fuck if he was gone before he overtook her and it looks increasingly likely.

  38. It should be hilarious but it's actually really, really sad. People's lives have and are being ruined because of this excuse for a government. I'm not into politics at all, but even I'm sick to my stomach at the state of affairs in this country.

  40. So I went and signed up back to school again to improve my picking technique and told the instructor that I play bass so he said to come back on Monday and pick a song to play that I thought would be good. In my eternal stupidity I picked an Ozzy track and this is my weekend bass homework. Also, I don't get the reason for the chorus part being written that way but who am I to mess with genius. Note: I am just glad I didn't tell him I like Maiden more than Ozzy.
