I think the main factor is Arsenal being practically relegation-level when it comes to attacking play. They basically can’t create a chance. At all.

Couple that with their shaky midfield and disjointedness in possession, and it does kind of make the tactical approach obvious for Mourinho and Spurs: sit back, let them frustrate themselves in their efforts to attack, let Kane and Son pounce on the inevitable mistakes.

Credit to them for them for executing it well, though.

Arsenal being so terrible going forward is definitely something Mourinho’s tactics are accounting for.

Because this just seems like a typical Mourinho approach to a big game. Organised defending and letting the other side have lots of the ball where they aren’t a threat, then hitting them hard on counters.

It’s hard enough for Arsenal to create a decent chance in this match, let alone finish. And they’re leaving lots of space for Spurs to counter into.

I can only see this staying 2-0 or if there’s more goals in it... they’ll be Spurs goals.

Atkinson is having a shocker here. Giving a foul every single time an Arsenal player throws themselves to the floor. How has Xhaka not been booked

Atkinson is one of the absolute worst refs in the league. And that’s saying something because they’re all pretty shite other than Oliver

But even going into this match they’ve been like bottom-five in terms of almost every attacking metric.

Spurs are definitely aggravating it, however.

Aubameyang has been dreadful again, might have to off load him and buy a striker that is interested.

You've got him on a 3 year deal with god knows what wages.

You think clubs are in the queue after this season? Nah, both Willian and Aubameyang will see the rest of their contract while earning shit loads. You've fucked yourselves.

The whole club is a mess.

Arteta has to go now, will be 16th if Brighton win. How can you have a coach who spent over 100 million losing 6 games in 11 games.  It clearly is not working he has to be let go as he is so far out of his depth. For the sake of the club he has to go.

Arteta urging an obviously injured Partey to get back on the pitch and playing only for him to immediately pull up is a really bad look. Makes him look like he doesn’t care about the long term wellbeing of his players - could see him losing the dressing room if he hasn’t already.

Deserved win from Spurs, better in every respect to an Arsenal side that wasn’t up to much.

He lost it along time ago. Needs to be let go Asap not sure how you can carry on with him. How many games will he actually lose if he stayed its frightening.

Get in thereeeee, 7 points from City, Chelsea and Arsenal. Can't argue with that at all.

The most satisfying part of this performance will be the fact that because Arsenal had so much of the ball and 'dominated' then everyone will say they played well, Arteta got it right, just wasn't their day etc. when in reality we were completely in control. We have an incredibly effective, cohesive defensive unit now - with two world class stars up front. Get out in front and it's hard to break us down. Hojbjerg is the signing of the season.

Also Partey sums up everything wrong with Arsenal over the last decade. No heart, no commitment.

Just dont think 80% of the players have the respect for the coach, no way would Partey done that with Simone.

I think Arteta is actually what is wrong with Arsenal and the whole build up of him, thinking he was going to be this master class coach, he has all Peps secrets etc even calling him an elite coach.  The worst thing he could've ever done was win the FA Cup as now it will lead to serious consequences.  He comes across as arrogant, clearly has no idea how to break teams down and has is really bad at man management.

You're winning the league this season mate. Said it to Liverpool and United supporting mates before the season started and got laughed at.

Mourinho is the best and most under appreciated manager of our generation. The Kane/Son relationship like i've said before will go down in history as the best ever in the PL... over the course of a title winning season.

Considering the games that Spurs are playing over December into early January this was a great result for them. You watch the way this team is playing and I kinda wish they were in the Champions League this season.

Easy expected win for Spurs.

Title challengers for sure.

I want to see how they cope when teams do to them what they have done to Chelsea/City etc.

Burnley was a good indicator which they won. So if they can do that frequently, they have a real chance.

They need Kane to be injury free to though I think. He's benefitted having no international tournament I think.
