Apparently his injury record isn't the best?

Apparently a couple of bad injuries that have been months and not just weeks. Also, he hardly looked good in the two games we played against them. But, the transfer track record at this club speaks for itself I suppose.

He didn't play in either gamexD

His injury record is fine. Had two lengthy spells. One for a hip injury and again for the same hip injury. Taking time off football rehabilitating seemed to do the trick. Only injury he had this season was from an ankle challenge.

Anyone else fed up with Liverpool constantly signing centre backs?

I don’t get why we’re signing another injury prone one to go along with the rest of our CBs.

But out of the 4 healthy ones we’ve got right now I’m still not convinced that Kabak and Phillips are any better than your average championship defender, we’ve barely seen Davies but he was actually in the championship this season... and I actually can’t remember if I’ve seen him play or not... so I don’t think he can be very good. And Rhys Williams will be lucky if he’s playing in League One or Two in a few seasons - he’s awful.

So I’m happy to see us add another CB. Because we’ll probably need 5 CBs going into next season, Virgil’s always going to be more likely to get injured again after an ACL injury so he’s probably going to be more fragile upon his return. Gomez is due for about 1 lengthy injury a season and Matip is a sick note.

for me it is liverpool spending big at southampton and leipzig instead of just buying them before that

It's never as simple as that though. There's no guarantee these players develop the way they do without the move beforehand. If Liverpool bought every player that was on their radar from a young age they'd end up with a lot in the under 23s or out on loan for years. The way Liverpool have done things over the last few years has ensured a pretty high success rate in the transfer market

What's the point of the transfer window if clubs can confirm deals outside of it.

And why aren't United sowing up their transfer early like this and having less hassle during the break.

Because it means the player doesn't leave through the season and leave the club in the lurch? Clubs have always been able to buy and seal contracts really throughout the season. It's just the actual transfer doesn't go through until the transfer window opens :what:

Why have you done the shruggy shoulders like I'm stupid?

I'm aware of how the transfer works I just don't think it's right. I also don't understand why more clubs aren't doing it more often instead struggling during the summer. United have only done it for the Chicharito deal from memory.

Haha that's your insinuation of an emoji. Calm down.

More clubs don't do it because it essentially is more to buy someone out of their contract I guess. Even if it is by a few months.

It's also the player (and probably agent) and how they feel. They might not have decided on what they want to do in the summer while they're in the middle of the season. So as to avoid pissing off their current club/fans.

I'd do the same emoji again but I don't want you to piss your pants about it again.

Cheers, I didn't want to have to explain to my wife why I had another set of piss stained pants in the washing basket.
