Well that didn't take long.

Kane again. This is why Southgate stuck with him as he will score if you give him the service. The last goal will have given him that confidence back. But Sterling again involved with the assist.

Sterling has been one of the players of the tournament, without a doubt. He's always trying to make things happen, even if it doesn't always pull off.

Classic Southgate so far, grabbed a goal, not really created much, not really conceded many chances either.

Commentators talking about holding possession, we don’t do anything with it, no need to obsess over it. Spain and Italy move the defence one side, pass to the other, pass over the top. We had about 3-4 chances to play a ball over the top to Mount/Sancho and ignored their runs every time.

We’re not creating because of possession and passing, we’ve created because Sterling and Sancho have run at their defence. That will happen the less we have the ball as Ukraine won’t be sat back so deep.

There’s a lack of urgency with this team, its worked out so far in the tournament but i would like to see them move the ball quicker and actually counter attack and take advantage of the opposition being out of position instead of passing the ball back to the defence.

Overall it was an okay first half, mainly because we did get a goal... after that goal it was fairly even. The commentators, Jenas specifically must be watching a different game. Mount blocked a shot and Jenas was talking about how amazing it was that Mount isolated the danger and cut things off at source... HE BLOCKED A SHOT ON GOAL YOU CUNT. That's after he said Ukraine were in awe of England which is why they're not going for it. Think that was in the tenth minute.

Yaremchuk is most likely scorer if Ukraine are to score. He beat Stones and forced a save in the 1st half and generally has a nose to goal. England's defence is so organised and strong, I don't think the Ukrainians are going to be allowed a long range goal or anything from their midfielders.

For England Sterling needs to keep up his great running and creativity and Sancho just needs to create his dribbling magic. Kane will be hungry to score a 2nd and score more in this tournament if England advance.
