Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 8 Subscriber Posted August 8 That's democracy unfortunately. The disgrace here is the media, especially the BBC, and to some extent the two major parties who are all in some way culpable for allowing the debate on cultural issues and immigration to move further and further to the right. Farage's views used to be so extreme that they weren't allowed as part of the mainstream conversation. Nowadays the viewpoint that "immigration really isn't that much of a problem" is the one deemed an extremist and unrealistic view. Quote
Devil-Dick Willie Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Country is shite after years and years of shite leadership Country commits economic suicide to 'get rid of the immigrants' and 'win our nation back' Country remains under shite leadership through this time Country gets worse rapidly Country finally gets so bad the opposition are voted in 10 seconds later right wing rioters marching in the street asking 'how did we let immigrants do this to our country?' 2 Quote

Seriously, fuck these people. These people are probably most directly responsible for the fucking state of the UK in the modern day - but they don't want to face facts that the dickheads they voted for are why the country's dogshit now, and would rather blame people that have a different skin colour. Too bad they can't be fucking deported, because it's what they deserve and what the rest of the UK deserves. Quote

Reluctant Striker Posted August 9 Posted August 9 It has been a truly horrific week. Brought to you by the same people that cheer on all the foreign players at their football clubs, all the not white GB Olympic medallists, etc. And the more I think about it all, the more sad it is how things have changed since I was young. I remember the Euro tunnel being completed. It was exciting. It was positive. It was opportunity. And back then the Royal Family were more loudly touring further off places, promoting Britain, as a global friend, ally & trading partner for all. On a side note intellectual level, it was a questionable point, to me, when it became EU or others. The EU put that on the table. It did not need to. But, the rioters are not exactly pro the 'others' are they? They are just the idiots, blaming all around them for the results of their own idiocy. That really is who they are. While the EU is a few steps from Ursula Von Der Leyen being the EU literal equivalent of Joe Biden. And, as against the rioters as I am. And as much as Brexit was a negative thing. I can't at the same time ignore that the political entities which still shout against it, would invariably also back Irish terrorists if it was the 'correct' side doing it, ignore similar culture issues in France, the racism in Italy & generally begrudge England being the epicentre of the English speaking world. Above & beyond the toxicity bomb that is gun rampage & assassination central America. And Russia in Ukraine. Israel & the Palestinians. If civilised aliens find us any time soon, they'll turn round & head off home when they start translating what we're all on about. Quote

Gunnersaurus Posted September 22 Posted September 22 What does everyone think of the winter feul cuts for pensioners? The thing for me is benefits are for people who need them. If you have a good pension do you really need it? My auntie was complaining about it but she has two houses. She doesn't really need it. But others may need it Quote

And like you say, some older folk have the financial capacity to get through it without the additional payment. Quote

At the same time some don't need it. I remember reading an article a few weeks ago and a pensioner said he didn't need the money and shouldn't get it. Also my mum who is retired along with my dad said that she thought that people in their financial situation shouldn't get money that they don't need if I can be used to help people who do need it. I do think some of the benifits system does need changing. One of my friends gets benefits because of mental health. Now she had some really bad stuff happen to her and 100% she should get support I'm not saying that. She told me she gets help buying a car. But she told me her car is worth about £30000 I think. I'm not sure what the allowance she gets is but I know she has paid alot of money for the car. The problem I have though is I think we'll if you afford to pay that much money do you really need such of an allowance? Benifits should be for people who really need it not helping people buy luxury cars Quote

6666 Posted September 30 Posted September 30 The Tory leadership race is kind of insane. They're just going overboard on who can suck Israel off more. Kemi Badenoch suggesting immigrants need to love Israel more, and Jendrick auditioning in front of the Israel lobby saying insane shit like every entry point into the UK should have a Star Of David. Israel genuienly are a poison in the world. 1 Quote

Israel genuienly are a poison in the world. They're fighting to appeal to the Tory base which has never been further away from the median voter in my lifetime. It's pathetic really. They lost 5 seats to Reform while the Lib Dems have 70 seats around the South that the Tories need back to form a majority but the only strategy they've known since the Brexit referendum is "we weren't being right wing enough". If Labour can just get their act together and do okay over the next few years then they'll win the next election too. The Tories have absolutely no conception right now of why they took a hammering last time. They need a new generation of politicians to come through with some vision because the ones running for the leadership this time are just recycling the same shite that Sunak failed to sell to the public.
