Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted Saturday at 19:07 Subscriber Posted Saturday at 19:07 I think it's a silly penalty to be fair. If they gave penalties against defenders every time they lost a header and knocked heads with the attacker you'd see one every 3-4 corners. The lad throws himself down and successfully buys it. This stuff should be discouraged not rewarded. Quote

Moderator CaaC (John) Posted Saturday at 19:36 Moderator Posted Saturday at 19:36 I was keeping track of the Aston Villa v Leicester game. I want Rudd van to do well at Leicester, I just hope he can keep them up and will look forward to next season, when Mavidide scored making it 1-1 I thought maybe they could hold on and maybe even win it. Dave Posted Saturday at 21:44 Posted Saturday at 21:44 In the first half I thought Chelsea looked world class. Enzo and Caicedo completely controlled the game, Jackson was like a bull and Sancho was very good too. I didn't realise how rapid Neto, Gusto and Cucurella were until I saw them against our wing backs who are pretty quick themselves. In the second half I think Palace did well to pin Chelsea back and Maresca was too late to react to tweaks made by a more experienced manager Glasner. It ended up being a game where both sets of fans left thinking they could have won. I can see why Chelsea fans would be frustrated because the story of today's game was very similar to what happened at Stamford Bridge earlier this season. Whilst Maresca deserves a lot of credit for changing the perception of Chelsea this season, he does need to start killing more teams off with a second goal as they're finding themselves in trouble the longer games go on. I think its a combination of the intensity, not reacting well to in game changes and the substitutes being made far too late in games. For a squad this size the players shouldn't be looking cooked . But for us it's the same old story. Desperately need more depth. A left back named El-Hadji Malick Diouf sounds a case of when as opposed to if he signs this window. Glasner said he wants two signings which i think is a mistake. I think we need four (LWB, RWB and two 10's) but this season already feels like a missed opportunity because of another poor summer transfer window. We were playing better at the end of last season than Forest have this season for example. Quote

Rick Posted Saturday at 23:02 Posted Saturday at 23:02 Arsenal are awful to watch. They are so unlikeable it’s unreal. We need to do serious damage to them lot tomorrow. Anything but a win would be extremely disappointing. Quote
6666 Posted Saturday at 23:53 Posted Saturday at 23:53 Ridiculous decision in my opinion. Fucked us just like in the reverse fixture. Nwaneri might be injured as well so that's another body to throw on the pile. Was always going to be unlikely for us to catch Liverpool as everything seems to be going their way this season. Strolling to a title win. Quote
Subscriber Dan+ Posted yesterday at 00:46 Subscriber Posted yesterday at 00:46 Entirely predictable outcome. It's the game that encapsulates our season for me. A not embarrassing loss, but a loss nontheless, one that will be dressed up as being OK because it's against a side who did well last season - ultimately, our last two losses have come to sides in the bottom five of the form table for the last 10 games. I don't think the manager is a million miles off questions. I think he's getting benefit of the doubt currently, which I think I err on the side of myself, but the clock is ticking. Five straight losses - Palace and Fulham both at home in our next two. I think without a good return in that I'm going to struggle to make any case for the bloke. 2022/23 was one of the biggest fumbles in Premier League history. 2023/24 was a correction. 2024/25 was a second bite at the cherry. We've obviously blown it. Piss poor recruitment in the summer, under the same people who have overseen the previous decline, who face no repercussions or serious scrutiny for their jobs. We have forced ourselves from what someone like Brighton or Villa are today to being part of the yoyo brigade, and I think the yoyo probably stops next season when the EFL eat our arses. Spectacular decline that gets nowhere near the criticism it deserves. Quote

LFCMike Posted yesterday at 10:22 Posted yesterday at 10:22 I don't see the issue with the Brighton penalty myself. It's not a typical clash of heads in a 50/50, he's so late. Just because it's with his head doesn't mean it shouldn't be a foul Quote
MUFC Posted yesterday at 11:04 Posted yesterday at 11:04 Will the game go ahead? Is it snowy in Liverpool? Quote

Is it snowy in Liverpool? https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/liverpool-v-manchester-united-update A safety meeting was held this morning to assess the weather and travel conditions for today’s fixture against Manchester United at Anfield. At this stage the match is planned to go ahead as normal and every effort is being made to get the game on. A further safety meeting will take place again at midday to assess the latest conditions. LFCMike Posted yesterday at 12:01 Posted yesterday at 12:01 Confirmed that it's definitely going ahead Quote
OrangeKhrush Posted yesterday at 13:09 Posted yesterday at 13:09 Liverpool are the best to watch team in attack, maybe Tottenham after that. Arsenal's problem is not having a genuine striker and it will hold them back this season. Quote

Sean Dyche is still managing Everton so not quite. 1 minute ago, Stan said: How on earth is a referee missing that? Shocking. I hope it gets held against them when their performances are reviewed that they needed VAR to correct an error that obvious. He had no excuse not to see that in real time. You could see it clearly from the TV camera. Quote

Will be interested to see our odds to drop if Ipswich hold on here. We were 1/6 to go down before this. I've accepted it. We're fucked. Quote

I'll be amazed if you stay up. You probably have more points than you should if anything and I think Van Nistelrooy was a baffling appointment in the circumstances. Our odds have closed from 5/1 to 3/1 over the last week or two with Wolves and Ipswich picking up wins. I think the only thing keeping us from going odds on even if Ipswich hold on here is the market pricing in a manager change. I'd genuinely put us at 70-80% likely to go if Dyche sees out the season.
