Madrid and the CL will find a way to each other one way or another. That's the only way I can explain it.

To be fair, the quality in Europe this season has been atrocious.

Juve were performing under par

Bayern were at their worst in years

Barcelona were never convincing to begin with

And City were in bad form when they faced an inform Liverpool. Sounds like a weak argument but to win a cup competition, you need to be in good form in my opinion.

Until they suffer a huge heartbreak by losing it to Barcelona at Santiago Bernabéu next year. xD I mean, sports are cruel.

I'm not sure what to say other than we didn't have enough to try and get back into it. Onto next year now. Gutted for this team that has played some very exciting football this year.

Congrats to all the Real Madrid supporters on here. Your team has put one in the record books and your player has scored probably one of the best goals in a CL final.

Great game. Had it all, drama, controversy, bad goals, good goals, but a shame that it was ultimately decided by two horrible goalkeeping errors as opposed to any sort of tactical or footballing genius. Real Madrid's depth won them the game, absolutely unreal that they can substitute Isco for Gareth Bale, and still have options like Asensio on the bench.  Ramos proved that he is a mediocre defender with a licence to kill, Bale proved that he deserves more than what the Real fans give him, and Zidane showed he is by no means a fantastic coach or a bad one, he just kind of wins with no thought to it, haha.

Karius' best save was in an offside situation. The rest of Madrid's best chances were mostly the result of Liverpool desperately chasing a lead.

Theres no point overintellectualising this. Madrid should have comfortably dominated but instead it was extremely close and they had to rely on freak moments because Zidane got it tactically wrong.

We've seen this all season, or even longer, I don't see how it's remotely controversial.

You aren't wrong that Real Madrid's 3 goals were all a bit lucky, but its not like they were completely outplayed. They had their chances including when Isco missed a 1 on 1.

Year after year they just prove they are the best team in the world. Maybe not as deep as Barcelona when it comes to replacement from the bench but that starting XI is just inherently talented.

Btw how anyone can watch this and argue Ronaldo is the best in the world is beyond me. One of the least important players on the pitch.

Because a season is more than one game?

Isco's miss came from a ridiculous error from Lallana. The best passages of collective attacking play came from Liverpool.

For that statement to be possible considering the gulf in technical quality, considering the gamesmanship, considering the gulf in experience, between the teams is a pretty severe indictment.

And that's why he is, because his presence alone gives the other team uneasiness which helps the others do amazing things like Bale. Also because you know the amount of goals he scored on the way here... and the fact that last year he pretty much alone was the reason they won...

but you know to each their own...

The best player in the world doesn't disappear in the biggest matches. Ronaldo regularly does - except to score a meaningless goal now and then.

Bale has been far more important for Madrid in these situations.

Real Madrid have been a counter attacking sides for years now. If they create chances like that, it counts even if it doesn't go in.

I don't disagree that Liverpool had some good collective play or that 2 of Real's goals were a bit lucky, but I'm just not buying that there was a clear dominator.

To be fair, he also didn´t score in the 2 matches against Bayern. As good as Cristiano is; Modric, Kroos and Marcelo in my opinion are the most important Real Madrid players.

Ronaldo is so incosistent these days. He scores important goals but often they are just a decent finish out of nothing. He's absolutely finished and that is being masked by his "influence" of his important goals.

His marketability remains for people to keep thinking he's one of the best in the world, but to me he is just another player. Kroos and Modric are the 2 best players on Real Madrid. Marcelo is also a shout.

I'm gutted for Karius. He's fucked it big style but he doesn't deserve shot out into space. He's been largely great in the last few months. He just needs experience to teach him and build his confidence.

Ronaldo has had a great record for finals in his career. Did he not eviscerate Juventus last year? We aren't talking about Thiery Henry here, Ronaldo while not having a perfect record in big games has done more than admirably.

I hope the team sees this in the dressing room. He won't be able to live in peace. As obvious as this may sound, a footballers life is extremely difficult. Especially with those with mental health problems, like Gazza.
