i can relate with the liverpool fans on hating the goalkeeper.    whenever liverpool attacks, my balls slowly go up my throat and hoping Navas won't make a mistake.   thankfully he  ( navas ) got himself in the right head tonight.

Yeah, I'm shocked than none of our players went to Karius. I know they have their own emotions to deal with but that was cold as fuck and it left me with a bad taste in the mouth.

I didn't actually see the afters. Was helping my mrs get ready for the airport.

Was there a clear snubbing or just every player sitting head in hands oblivious?

Aye, as funny as it was seeing him literally heartbroken, in tears at the end wasn't exactly nice to watch. Hopefully he regains some form (and keeps his mental health in check) either with Liverpool or elsewhere.

He should be right. On a day or two everyone will be talking about the world cup and this will all be forgotten about.

I'm of course super glad that Madrid has won again, but I'm also a big nerd for statistics of historical significance, so I'll just share a few that may or may not already be widely known. But hey, let me enjoy the moment.

- This is the first time since 1976 that a team has won the Europa Cup I/Champion's League three times in a row, and obviously the first time in the Champion's League era.

- With Salah and Carvajal both going off in the first half, it was the first time that both teams had to bring off an injured player by half-time since 1975.

- With Real Madrid winning the trophy, the European Super Cup against Atlético in the run-up to next season will be the first time a European Super Cup match will be held between two teams from the same city. Two teams from the same country first faced each other in 1990, when AC Milan beat Sampdoria over 2 matches.

- This was the first time in Champion's League history that the exact same starting eleven appeared in 2 separate finals.

- As a manager, Zinédine Zidane still has never lost a European Cup tie.

- By winning the cup 4 times in 5 years, Real Madrid have now completely neutralized the European resurgence of Barcelona, who won the Champion's League in 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015.

- Real Madrid have now won the Champion's League more than they have the Europa Cup I: 7 vs. 6.

- While Sadio Mané's goal ultimately could not prevent Liverpool's defeat, it was historic in that it was the first time in the competition's history that 3 different players from the same team had scored at least 10 goals in a single season.

- Cristiano Ronaldo has so far scored at least 10 goals in 7 consecutive Champion's League seasons.

- Liverpool appeared in their third final in the Champion's League era (2005, 2007 and 2018), making them the second-most successful English team in this respect after Manchester United (1999, 2008, 2009 and 2011).

- With the exception of Manchester United's 2016/17 Europa League win, a non-Spanish team hasn't won a European cup since 2013.

Fair is fair, Navas worried me after the match against Juventus in Bernabéu, but he has really redeemed himself as far as his Champion's League performances go. He was crucial in both the semi-finals and the final.

For the record I wanna say that even though I feel for Karius after tonight, I don't believe he should start next season as our number 1. We have to bring somebody top class in once and for all. There is a very good player in Karius, and we definitely need to keep him as second choice.

Henderson....well don't even get me started. He shouldn't be in the fucking first 11, nevermind captaining the cunt. Give the arm band to Virgil and get him to fuck.

I agree. Virgil great option for captain next year. Better to sell Henderson to make that happen.

I totally forgot about the most impressive statistic:

- This was the first time since 2006 that Fabien Barthez played an official match.

Ronaldo isn't as good as he used to be. That doesn't mean he's finished though. Can still offer a lot to any team.

Would you want your club you sign him? That is a key indicator.

I'm not sure who the hell would answer "no".

Me. No way would i want that to be a big money signing to bolster our attack. We're still in a developing phase and not looking to bring an old guy that would demand a first team place.

I think his appeal would be limited to clubs who are at a certain point of their cycle approaching a drop and just hoping to stave it off a bit longer.

As a minimum his age affects his appeal.

Any neutral watching this and still backing madrid after that isnt worth their salt.

Disgusting that he's still on the pitch and Salah misses out.

 Fuck you hahaha.

Loved it as a neutral to be honest. Huge big game play from Ramos, it's why he's the best and 3 freak goals as well. Someone put Karius on suicide watch. Someone else put him on the transfer list
