Yeah, the one that’s played with broomsticks. xD

Why so much hate :(. Its a great game and highly tactical too. Granted it looks like you're getting your floors scrubbed but thats extremely crucial for playing a great shot.

And totally unrelated request: @Stan As administrator, could you add an Atlético de Madrid crest?

Thanks to Rab, this should now be available for you :)

This is good news if true, especially if they all vehemently tell the Spanish FA to royally fuck off about it

Great to see this. Great photo of two legends.

Hopefully the Spanish FA will listen.

Which is a perfectly fine point of view. It's when you disseminate that view with vitriolic and unnecessary comments towards nearly 400,000,000 people most of whom probably don't care about your sport, is when you become something else. I even agree with you, but I won't stand idly by while you insult and generalise the culture and people of many that I dearly love.

If you continue to not mention that you care about me I'm going to send a strongly worded letter to your entire country to let them know how upset this makes me, starting with @Toinho

Footballers in Spain have not ruled out strike action over a plan to stage a top-flight league match in the United States, says the players' union.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos and Barcelona vice-captain Sergio Busquets were among the high-profile players to attend a meeting on Wednesday to discuss their "concern" over the issue.

La Liga agreed a 15-year deal with US media company Relevent on Friday.

The players' union - the AFE - says its members were not consulted by La Liga.

Players from all of the La Liga sides met in Madrid on Wednesday to discuss the issue with AFE president David Aganzo.

Among those in attendance were Ramos and Real Madrid team-mate Nacho, Barcelona duo Busquets and Sergi Roberto, Leo Baptistao from Espanyol, Bruno from Villarreal, and Atletico Madrid players Koke and Juanfran.

Aganzo said: "The problem is the lack of common sense, a schedule where only the export of soccer benefits - nobody counts on the fans.

"We need to fix it with the bosses. The captains are outraged, they're against it, they are unanimous.

"It does not make sense. We are talking about an agreement that has a validity of 15 years without consulting the players."

On the possibility of strike action, he added: "We will try not to reach that extreme but we are willing to go to the end if necessary."

Aganzo said the players would meet again in September.

Asked last week when the US-based match would take place, and whether it would be a regular fixture, La Liga told BBC Sport it "cannot confirm the teams, match, date or season".

The AFE said players "do not understand the unilateral decisions", adding: "La Liga is distancing the fans of the players, something that harms the show and the essence of football."

After the meeting the league said in a statement: "La Liga will meet with AFE in the appropriate forum to discuss the plans to play a match outside of Spain."

Given that it’s a country which only sorts out it’s television schedule a couple of weeks before games are due to be played, it’s a bit rich of Aganzo to play the “won’t somebody think of the fans” card now.

David Aganzo is very good friends with Luis Rubiales (presidente of the RFEF) and does everything Rubiales tells him to do.  Both have the common enemy who is Javier Tebas (president of the LFP), so this particular issue loses some if its essence there. The players are easily manipulated by the AFE, always has been that way because the highest earners will always back the others so as to not have a guilty conscience.

Looking at it from another perspective...

So the players backed by the AFE or the AFE backed by the players (La Liga players fundamentally and not the lower divisions so much) are claiming that the LFP and Javier Tebas who has organised the American adventure aren’t looking out for the well being of the players...

Really?

Let’s analyse this briefly

So one of the things Aganzo (AFE President) said was that even the Friday and Monday games implemented 3 years ago weren’t put to the players. Now, the Friday and Monday games have generated a 9% increase in the revenue La Liga receives which then goes back to the clubs... Thos two games are sold individually in off days put of the weekend match fixture agenda and anyone outside Spain buying those games pays for them individually. More money!

The sale of one game out of over 300 games played a season in one division (La Liga) to the US will generate exposure, marketing potential and inevitably more money for the league which is then shared out amongst the clubs.

Did Aganzo know that player salaries in the past three years have risen 20%?

How does Aganzo think the clubs are going to finance the astronomical  growing salaries without increased revenue in a very competitive market betwen Europe’a top leagues?

Ethically it’s wrong and I am against it because of this but this is the route forward unfortunately with a global game that’s become internationalised.

The question should be put to the players in all of this because it’s not about their well being at all and more about the well being of their pockets.

Are the players going to take the relative percentage cut in their salaries that all of these projects produce?

We all know the answer to this because the players don’t throw a strop when they do their Asia or US tours in pre season but yet are willing to go to war because of ONE GAME in the season.

Real Betis vs Barcelona?

Why would you take a game, that when played at the Benito Villamarín(one of the largest stadiums in the country for the record), is always a sell out and produces one of the best atmospheres in the country?

Why send it to a country where they think holding signs up saying "you suck" is a great atmosphere. It would make a laughing stock of the league and should never happen.

Hopefully all the players and everyone associated with these clubs all outright refuse to even get on the plane. They have a right to as they are contracted to play in Spain and Europe, not the states.

I feel like you do but the players have no say in this and it’s hypocritical of them to even raise an eyebrow in dissent. Their mega wages are generated from these things because otherwise football clubs won’t be able to afford their over priced services.

Read my previous post above mate.
