Christian Pulisic - Chelsea Summer Move Confirmed

Recommended Posts

Quote

Chelsea or Liverpool could reportedly buy Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic for £70 million, provided they are willing to let him remain with the Bundesliga side until the end of the season.

According to Matt Law at the Daily Telegraph, Dortmund will not allow the United States international to leave in January, but they are willing to negotiate a deal "if they receive a big enough bid."

Pulisic's deal at Dortmund expires in 2020, and it's said he has attracted interest from both of the Premier League teams and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

70 million a bit steep, but I reckon it could be negotiated for less. Bloke can't even get in the first XI now.

When he becomes available, I believe the owners will go all out for him. The American owners see a huge commercial potential in him. Klopp rates him highly as well.

It's another new transfer window so I can't even tell if 70 million is ridiculous or not. 70 million could be the new 25 million now for all we know.

Chelsea are set to offload Callum Hudson-Odoi in January if they win the race to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic, according to The Mail On Sunday.

The report suggests Pulisic is also a target for Liverpool.

Given Willian's age and decline, Pulisic can be a first team player at Chelsea, Liverpool don't need him and won't be able to negotiate in the same way with Salah/Mane both in their mid-twenties.

Only 20 years old, only have Willian who is 30, Pedro who is 31 and Eden who is 27. We also have Odoi but he never gets a chance and he will surely be loaned out. Refreshment of the wing department is a must.

We definitely need an injection of quality on the wing, but for 70 million on a bench player they can fuck off.

Reports in Spain stating he has agreed to join an English club.

What's funny is that media outlets think it's Liverpool and state that he wants to be reunited with former boss Jurgen Klopp. Now, this just goes to show how fucking dumb the media are. Liverpool may indeed be interested, but it was Tuchel that worked with Pulisic FFS. Not Klopp

He did work with Klopp and by all accounts is still in touch with him.

Anyway, don't think we really need him and especially not at that price.

At Dortmund, although only briefly. Klopp was the one who took pulisic out of the youth team to train with the first team.

Klopp left before he signed for Dortmund didn't he? Wouldn't surprise if Klopp could use his Dortmund contacts to influence a deal though but he's really not needed at Liverpool.

He didn't, see my post above. Klopp left shortly after promoting Pullisic to the first team squad. Google it.

Youth players training with the first team on occasion is far different than actually being a first team player. He played one training session under Klopp.   Pulisic even said he personally didn't know him. It was Tuchel that brought him to be a 1st team regular.

I bow to your knowledge. Maybe Klopp can swing it then.

I honestly don't think we need him. He'd be a squad player at best whereas he'd have a clear run into the first team at Chelsea which will probably appeal more to him.

Can't see us spending £70m on a rotation player.

Doubt he will leave for that amount.

Maybe not but I think the fee is so high, not just because of his talent/potential, but because by signing him you are also tapping into the American market which is obviously very lucrative.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND OFFER CHRISTIAN PULISIC AS BAIT IN EYE-POPPING CHELSEA SWAP DEAL

MARK TAYLOR  11:35, 27 Dec 2018

In one of the more surprising transfer rumours of the festive season, Borussia Dortmund are allegedly willing to let American international Christian Pulisic leave in a bid to tempt Chelsea to part with their highly-rated youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Pulisic is a player not short of admirers with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reportedly keen on bringing him to Anfield and knows all about him from his time in the Bundesliga.

Such a move 12 months ago would have been unthinkable but Pulisic is no longer the first pick on the Dortmund teamsheet and he has made it known he'd be open to a potential love to guarantee regular first team football.

Metro reports that talks have already begun between the two clubs with Dortmund desperate to land 18-year-old winger Hudson-Odoi who is frustrated by the lack of first-team opportunities under Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea. The former Napoli boss has given the player just two starts and Hudson-Odoi has noted the success of fellow Chelsea loanee Reiss Nelson and former Manchester City and England starlet Jadon Sancho in the German top flight.

News of Pulisic's availability could alert the likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool as both clubs have been linked with a move for him in the past. Hudson-Odoi is also wanted by Bayern who face the prospect of losing two of their star players Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben in the summer and are on the lookout for potential replacements.

Chelsea would be reluctant to see another exciting young player go but the opportunity to bring in such a proven talent as Pulisic may be too tempting to resist.
