Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 25, 2019 Author Subscriber Posted August 25, 2019 We have a winner! It was inevitable that it would happen eventually, but congratulations to @nudge, the only one of our 20 competitors who isn't actually a man, wins this round of the Last Man Standing League! A Spurs and United-inspired massacre this weekend leaves us with the shortest LMS competition the forum has seen, lasting just 3 weeks! Full scoring later along with the start of the next round.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 25, 2019 Author Subscriber Posted August 25, 2019 Results - Gameweek Three Here's how the shortest Last Man Standing competition yet was decided in Gameweek Three: Casualties (11) An utterly bizarre pair of upsets this weekend claimed the lives of 10 of our 12 remaining competitors. First, Manchester United were foiled in their attempts to defeat Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, meaning that @Dan, @CaaC (John), @Teso dos Bichos, @Lucas and @Eco saw their hopes of progressing to the next game week put Aanholt. Next were Tottenham Hotspur, responsible for the successful survival of six players in Gameweek One, this time claimed the scalp of five Bruces, leaving a Sheila to win the competition. @RandoEFC, @...Dan, @Bluewolf, @DeadLinesman and @Storts downed by Joelinton's solitary strike. The absent @SchalkeUK was unfortunate that Wolves didn't have enough time to follow up on Raul Jimenez' late equaliser to find a winner against Burnley, and joins the sizeable cohort of this week's casualties as a result. Commiserations folks. You have all gained a total of 4 points this round - 2 points for calling two correct winners and 2 bonus points for all coming in joint 2nd place for this round. The events of this game week mean that the following players also gain 1 bonus point for coming in joint 3rd, meaning that they score 2 points overall: @Stick With Azeem and @JOSHBRFC. Survivors (1) In a weekend full of away wins in the Premier League, there was only one person with the vision to back an away team to take 3 points from this set of fixtures. That team was Leicester City, who defeated Sheffield United 2-1 at Brammall Lane, securing @nudge's victory in this edition of Last Man Standing. It is perhaps noteworthy, too, that nudge was the only player to pick defending champions Manchester City at any point over the past three weeks as they secured her path through Gameweek One. Congratulations to @nudge, who wins this round and scores a total of 6 points - 3 points for surviving 3 weeks, and 3 bonus points for being the Last Person Standing! Table will be updated this evening, and Round 2 will be launched imminently.
Bluewolf Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Well at least we won't have to wait around for weeks waiting to get back in the game...
Administrator Stan Posted August 25, 2019 Administrator Posted August 25, 2019 Well done @nudge! What's next @RandoEFC? More Premier League or we moving around Europe?
