Remember when I posted this picture a while back telling the daughter to watch out for Puddin in case she attacks the Gecko, Buddy, well... Early yesterday morning around 02.30 am the daughter woke up when she heard a loud hissing noise, she said it was louder than a cat, and then Puddin came into her bedroom meowing as if to tell her something. The daughter then investigated and went into the lounge and there was her Gecko crawling across the floor with the 2 cats just staring at it, lol, it must have been the Gecko hissing and warning the cats not to come near her, the cats never budged and steered clear of her. Apparently, the daughter said she must not have closed the glass enclosure properly and Buddy found a way out.3 points

Good to hear from you Truls! Similarly to you, I lost most of my interest in football in recent years. Still watch Werder regularly and then a few occasional games in lower leagues or Austria sometimes, but have absolutely no interest in European (whether it's other top leagues or European competitions) or international football anymore. If anything, Werder playing in the 2. Bundesliga last season actually rekindled my passion a bit, as it was a much more honest, pur, raw competition (an exciting championship battle really helped, too). I will try to watch more football this season again, especially lower leagues.3 points

Nunez scored 4 in a 5-0 win v Leipzig. Only pre season and all that but good to see after some of the ridiculous stuff I've seen on social media over the last week or so.2 points

German U19 Bundesliga is divided intop three regional divisions. 1 of these divisions sends two teams to Championship final round, the other two one each. Bayern U19 are a midtable club that one of said two divisions. In other words Bayern U 19 are an average club in German first league youth football, this result is less suitable to brag about, than you would think without knowledge off German youth football. Bayern U19 neither are nor were traditionally one of the biggest Clubs in this part of the sport, despite their name in senior football.2 points

Mexico was hot literally and figuratively. Never been there in the summer before but man was it a great place to recharge and relax. We've been to the resort once before just before COVID and it's some of the best beaches in the Mayan Riviera plus it's a massive compound (6 hotels on it). Ventured a bit, did a fishing trip and went to Chichen Itza (hadn't been there in about 12 years), went to a few different cenote's and snorkeled a bunch. Ive got a tonne to sort through but here's some for pics for now!2 points

Do people feel enthusiastic about the coming season? I must admit I have lost much of my passion for the game in the last years. Covid did not help. I will try to follow Bundesliga and European football a bit more again though, and see if I can muster some interest.2 points

So i am back after roughly more than two years away? Lot of things happened to me good and bad over the two years. I moved to Germany in December and recently found a flat and now waiting for a Visa for my wife and the new member of the TB gang my one year old son. Yeah became a dad too last May, so that is exciting. My mum also passed away a month before my move to Germany last year in November and i had so little time to accept it all if i accepted it at all. Currently in a transition period as i look to move to a different job and connect with my family. The last year and a half was filled with ups and downs so much happened in a short period that put so much pressure on my mind. However things are starting to click, my hard work and efforts here are paying off in a way. So looking forward to the future for the first time in quite some time. Hope you guys and your loved one's are well2 points

And he could have given the wallet to his local police station if he was really concerned about it being returned to it's owner. Maybe I'm just being naive again, but I always refused a finders fee when I returned a wallet. So I would have expected nothing back and would been more than delighted with a shirt, that I'd sell on ebay anyway. Because fuck Bayern.1 point

Don't know about Düsseldorf- but the 5km from Saarbrücken downtown to my flat cost 20 Euro with a taxi, so 400 quid for 120 km is very conceivable. I agree nobody forced him to drive by taxi, nonetheless.1 point

Keane is a bizarre player because he's good sometimes and shite sometimes but not in one of those ways where a player is generally good but has a game or two in every ten where he has a nightmare. He'll have 2 months where he keeps his nose clean then 3 months where he's awful every week and so on and so on. I'm pretty sure Tarkowski is better than Keane just because he's actually consistent. I'd also rate Mina, Godfrey and usually Holgate above Keane as well so ideally we should be getting him sold but he'll be one of those players who we've inexplicably extended his contract to 2026 on 80k a week after he put together a good run of 6-8 games which obviously means we can't get rid of him because that's how this owner operates. The Minnesota badge is certainly unique but personally not to my taste. @Dr. Gonzo I was more gutted by the breakdown of the takeover talks than Richarlison leaving. Obviously the latter is worse but the false hope of the former compared to the resignation of selling one of our best players has just left me feeling pretty disinterested in this season because as long as Moshiri and Kenwright are around there's not going to be a big picture or pathway to get behind. We have been linked with plenty of players though, just not got far enough to make Paul Joyce's radar and others like him. We were in for Emanuel Dennis but talks broke down. Currently working on a deal for Cornet but we won't even pay his £17m release clause in one go apparently so it looks like even selling Richarlison hasn't even given us room to manoeuvre FFP wise. Also looking at a midfielder from somewhere like Wolfsburg called something like Franckx who sounds good. It's probably a bigger priority than replacing Richarlison to be honest because a Gray-DCL-Gordon attack has enough about it not to be horrendous whereas a midfield containing Allan, Davies and/or Gomes on a weekly basis will see us bang in the mix at the bottom again this season. The right back situation is also fully dependent on Patterson hitting the ground running this season after missing last year's run in due to injury, otherwise we're asking Coleman to play regularly again and I just can't with that for another season.1 point

Yeah that was the first one, we play Munich at the weekend then you in the shield, we only been back a week ..some of the squad has not even come and some not fit to train yet like Dias, Laporte, Stones, Foden, Gundogan, Walker was limping towards the end of the friendly too so was De Bruyne, it was a high tempo game with lots of full on slide tackles, that was no friendly Greelish got cleaned out about 4 times Only fit senior CB we have right now is Ake, Phillips played CB in the 2nd half. I fear Liverpool could get a head start this season while we recover players and get back into the swing of things. As for the game Cole Palmer does not look out of place with the first team, Alvarez is rapid, looked very sharp he fit straight in too, Haaland didn't play, he's only trained for 2 days, looks like Peps wrapping him in cotton wool, hope to see him against Munich1 point

It seems that the first batch of data might have already revealed the earliest known galaxy in the visible universe! Another cool discovery from the early data was finding out that one of the observed exoplanets might have clouds made of sand! https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2022/07/james-webb-space-telescope-charts-exoplanets/670568/1 point

I agree; my interest was waning pre covid but that probably made things worse as well. I still watch nearly every Bayern match but not a whole lot else anymore, thats also partly due to time; I just dont have enough of it! The ocassional Bundesliga clash or some of the big champions league matches otherwise but far less interest in neutral matches for sure.1 point

Gen Pop: I'm not worried about my data online. Me: Back on topic, that reveal for the Last of Us Remake was very good and this is how remakes should be done. Capcom oddly led the way there with their RE2 remake.1 point

So Füllkrug not only signed a contract extension for 3 more years, but also agreed to lower his wages by 30%. According to him, he's not the only player in the club to do that, either. Good to hear stuff like that. https://www.deichstube.de/news/werder-bremen-niclas-fuellkrug-ueber-gehalt-neuer-vertrag-den-tod-musste-ich-sterben-geld-verzicht-bundesliga-zr-91676732.html#idAnchComments1 point

Lovely cat! But I know you mean good, but I'm always wary feeding strange cats. She could have illnesses like diabetes or some intolerances that don't allow her to eat certain stuff. I always gave my neighbours cats some treats, until the owner told me that he's on a diet on doctors orders.1 point

It's good so far but it's very different I think. The setting is the same (Hill House) but as far as I know they made up almost a whole new story for the Netflix series. The book is closer to the film The Haunting from the 1960s.1 point
